Hello beautiful people, I'm glad to share one of my favorite edits from last summer with you as a FREE DOWNLOAD. 

It's fun how things are... I've always been a guy who had great influence of american and european music, but when I cross the ocean seeking for more, I found myself completely involved in a way to expand my brazilian research and the result couldn't be another: I loved it so much that I just can't stop.

It's no coincidence that I'm bringing this track to you.

"Coco do Macaco" is a piece that belongs to the "coco" genre, a traditional musical style from the northeast of Brazil, known for its humorous and irreverent approach.

The song gets national notoriety when it was used as the opening theme for the program "Planeta dos Homens", on Rede Globo between 1976 and 1982.

With smart and acidic texts by Jô Soares, Max Nunes, Hilton Marques, Haroldo Barbosa, Afonso Brandão, Luis Fernando Veríssimo, Sérgio Rabello and others, the program explored social, political and cultural themes through comedy sketches.

One of the most iconic characters on the program was "Macaco Socrates", with sarcastic observations and humorous social criticism, he was voiced by the great Paulo Silvino and had lines that showed ironic wisdom, playing with the idea that "monkeys were wiser than humans".

With time we become even more curious to get deep about the art of djing and the possibilities we have into this. Also, the techniques we need for any kind of music. And for me, this curiosity is what makes me feel alive into this, crafting calmly for years.

Back the days in Brazil I've already started to play with another genres of music to amplify my abilities and create new spaces where sounds like these could resonates even more - this is the case of my label party called “Bingo”.

This time I’ve brought to you a blend of New Wave, Synth Pop, Indie Dance and Electronica. I discovered the new wave movement and its similars around 2017 and became in love with it, mainly cause of my strong vein for rock n’ roll.

These movements became even more present in my life when i moved to São Paulo back in 2021 and my nights out there were almost always listening to these genres, when in bars or restaurants, watching and listening DJs i admirer spins some great records of it.

This mix was just a matter of time and here we are, back with our musical lab exploring other sides! And how many we still can have?!

P.S.: I know this is not what you are used to but I ask you to give a chance to it. As a DJ, is my mission to show you new music. Expand your mind and I hope you enjoy as much as me. Peace!

Bryan Brito is a Brazilian DJ and music producer based in Portugal. Known for shaping scenes, his journey has always been more about creating spaces than being at the center of them.

Whether warming up the floor or taking it to its peak, he reads the crowd like few can — always playing for connection, never ego.

Now based in Lisbon, Bryan is the co-founder of Party People, an electronic music brand dedicated to pushing the edges of club sound and celebrating alternative lifestyles.
