With THE BLUE ROOM, Grant Dupré puts a surprisingly earnest yet whimsical spin on emo music as he musically chronicles the mental and emotional challenges of the last two years of his life. The album meanders through hopeful pop-punk, adrenaline pumping hard rock, pastiches of other genres like disco, jazz, and ska, through dreamy ballads and the odd quiet moment across twenty tracks that act as a culmination of his songwriting history up to now. THE BLUE ROOM is simultaneously grand and quaint, somehow so bold, yet so modest in its origins. It is the most vulnerable Grant has ever been in his music, just as much a triumph over hardship as it is a cry for help.

Grant Dupré has been musically gifted for as long as anyone can remember. By the age of ten he had learned to play multiple instruments (some of which he taught himself), and had an advanced understanding of music theory for his age. He’s been releasing original music since he was fourteen years old, and has forged his skills as a composer, producer, and engineer to the near professional level from his various bedroom studios over the years. 

Grant uses his musicality to express a wide array of emotions - from the bright pinks and yellows of joy and love, to the deep blues and purples of melancholy, to the harsh crimsons of rage and betrayal, to the muted grays of loneliness and isolation. 

Grant has formal schooling in jazz and works in a variety of genres like rock, pop, funk, orchestral, punk, metal, folk, and just about anything in between, and his breadth and evolution of tastes can be observed throughout his now nearly ten year discography.
