The Organic Life 101

So grateful to return to one of the greatest clubs on Earth: Audio SF. In my early years living in the Bay, I was regularly on that dance floor. To now be behind the decks, playing direct support for Simon Doty, was a dream come true. 

This was my first ever direct support slot, and I poured everything into it. Over four months of digging, refining, and preparing - hundreds of hours of curation distilled into one hour of music.

DJ, Music Producer Born in Montreal, Canada, Gone Deville is a DJ and music producer renowned for his dynamic versatility across genres like organic house, melodic techno, and afro-tech. His unique sound has earned global recognition, with releases on leading electronic labels such as Madorasindahouse, Nulu, Toolroom, and his own imprint, Artmotel Records, founded in 2022.

Milestones and Accolades
In 2023, Gone Deville received a Juno Award nomination for his production of Congolese artist Kizaba's acclaimed album, KIZAVIBE. He has performed at some of the world’s most iconic festivals, including SXM Festival, New Orleans Jazz Festival, and Chile’s WOMAD Festival.

Collaborations and Key Releases
Gone Deville’s recent release Soul People (Madorasindahouse, 2023) reflects his innovative sound, co-produced with long-time collaborator KOLA. The track follows the success of their earlier hit Waiting, which earned widespread acclaim on dance floors.
Many of his tracks have been remixed by esteemed producers, including Cioz, Gab Rhome, Martin Roth, Julian Prince, Hector Couto, and Brett Johnson, further cementing his influence in the electronic music scene. He also serves as the primary producer for Kizaba, a Congolese-Canadian artist.

The Miyagi Headband Mix is an unrehearsed, regularly updated mix series from Castleford, Yorkshire, UK. There is no planning,unlike the day job. Its done on the fly if it carries a chapter number 

Each mix depends which way the wind blows that day and mixes are done on the fly using gut reactions and the ways of the force. The Miyagi Headband does not let perfection be the enemy of the good.  Expensive equipment is not used. This is a hobby not a career so it ain’t perfect! - its my escape. 

Artwork provided by the dark recesses of my mind, inspired by the works of Cold War Steve, Akira, Transformers via ipad pro and procreate.

Simon Doty’s origins from Canada’s Western wilderness to a college basketball shooting guard may seem like an unlikely path for the emergence of a finely tuned electronic artist. A self-taught gear master ‘whiz kid’ with a profound understanding of musical composition and engineering, Simon has earned the ear of his peers and heroes alike.

After years mastering his sound and ascending the ranks of the underground circuit, Doty’s breakthrough debut LP ‘Universal Language’ on Anjunadeep was released in 2023 and supported by a world tour featuring over 60 dates.  Marquee performances at electronic music’s top venues including Brooklyn Mirage, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Gorge Amphitheatre, Savaya Bali and Fabric London highlight a year of  live milestones for the Canadian talent. Characterized by gritty analog synthesis, evocative melodies, and powerful driving grooves; his signature sound has earned Simon a bonafide spot among the industry’s most respected producers. Industry icons Pete Tong and Danny Howard have taken notice, with regular first plays and support on their BBC Radio 1 programs.
