This tune is a love note to Attar of Nishapur, and probably Rumi too, as I think he was the one who offered the image of angels in the winehouse. It is one in a series of several tunes I wrote in late 2024/early 2025 that drew on a powerful bolt of what I affectionately called “Majnun energy” I was experiencing at the time, a sort of wild and thirsty recklessness toward God that felt similar to the energy of the birds at the end of Attar’s Manṭiq-uṭ-Ṭayr. I never figured out what caused that energy, but it helped me immensely during a pretty rough patch of ministry, so I’m grateful. Here’s a taste of it for you. May you be as profoundly reckless and cringe as I was.

Here, There and Everywhere has always been one of my favorite Beatles songs. It’s intimate, simple, and deeply emotional. In this version a capella, I tried to stay true to that feeling, but bring it into my own sound.

What struck me most about the original was the vocal harmony. I didn’t try to copy it exactly — instead, I tried to recreate that atmosphere using my own instruments, building textures that feel close to that mood.

It’s not a replica, it’s my way of paying tribute. Recording it was an exercise in memory, sensitivity, and sound exploration. I’m happy with how it turned out.
