Berlin State Of Mind is a dark and deep techno track inspired by early 2000s Berlin, raw, unfinished, and uncompromising. Built on heavy repetition, deep bass and hypnotic tension, the track reflects the spirit of legendary spaces like Tresor, Berghain, E-Werk and Kater Blau, where time dissolves and the ego fades. This is not club music made to entertain, but a sonic state of mind: minimal, obsessive, and immersive. A journey through concrete, darkness and connection where strangers merge, thoughts disappear, and techno becomes possession rather than sound.

For Mix 006 of the Who Knows Podcast, the spotlight turns to Edine, delivering a special recording captured live at one of Berlin’s most iconic dancefloors — Sisyphos.
A French DJ and producer now based in Berlin, Edine is the founder and creative force behind the duo Discult Soundsystem and the founder of the label Lets Record. His journey into music started early — at just 16, experimenting with his first groovebox and shaping the foundations of a sound that would later evolve into the distinctive style he’s known for today. Learning to DJ soon followed, allowing him to bring his productions and musical vision directly to the dancefloor.
Over the years, Edine has become a familiar presence in Berlin’s underground circuit, performing at renowned venues such as Hoppetosse, Griessmühle, Watergate, RSO, and Soho House Berlin, while also bringing his sound to international stages across Europe, from Belgrade to Italy and Switzerland.
His productions have received support from respected artists like Laurent Garnier, Mihai Popoviciu, and S3A, while also gaining recognition from media platforms such as Konbini, Tsugi, Groove Magazine, and Meoko.
With releases on respected labels including Household Digital, Piston Recordings, +98 Records, Golden Gate Records, and BienAimé Music, alongside his own projects Lets Record and Lets Discult Records, Edine continues to shape a sound that blends groove, character, and underground sensibility.

Modular Expansion was founded by George Apergis and has run successfully, since 1998. The name “Modular Expansion” is inspired from the first analog modular synthesizers of which different parts were connected between each-other, forming an expansion.Modular Expansion is a cultural body of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and has to its credit actions with the auspices and financial support of the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Athens. Actions such as vinyl releases, art videos and publishing events. He is also a European Design Award holder, Silver Award in 2016 in the category Music & Films Covers. Modular Expansion have events in a lot of European cities and famous places like Berghain, Tresor, Suicide, Sisyphos, Renate, Birgit in Berlin, also in cities like London, Rome, Barcelona, Sofia, Warsaw, Moscow, Tel Aviv and at the most prestigious places in Athens.

Modular Expansion is one of the first teams which started organizing Techno events in Athens in 1998. In the end of the 90s began to host artists from the labels such as Tresor, Basic Channel and Chain Reaction, presenting the Berlin underground music vibe and making techno popular in the Greek capital. Founder of Modular Expansion known as George Apergis performs already in 2002 at the legendary Tresor in Berlin. The Munich-based Thomas Labermair has been on the decks for over 15 years, and he has also been active as a producer for many years.
Certainly not a novelty in the increasingly fast-paced electronic music scene, but still worth mentioning and of course also an incentive for newcomers with whom Thomas Labermair likes to DJ.

Musically, Thomas Labermair's sound moves somewhere between techno, psy trance, indie, and melodic techno & house.
The California Dreaming podcast series is completely new and is intended to serve as a platform for Thomas Labermair for local newcomers as well as established DJs.
Thomas Labermair's DJ career really began in 2009 in the former after-hours club Mojitobar. Like many things, in principle almost everything at that time, it was located in the huge party Bermuda Triangle at Munich's Ostbahnhof.

At that time, Thomas Labermair also performed under the alias Somnia and was a resident DJ at the Bullitt Club. Since then he has been playing in clubs like Rote Sonne, Zur Gruam, Harry Klein, Haus 33 and at events and festivals like Gute Laune, Isarrauschen and Isle of Summer, to name just a few.

Thomas Labermair has been producing on the labels City Of Drums, IAMT and Reload Records since 2016. Tracks like Voices in my Head, Cyberpunk or Voyager are guaranteed floor fillers that regularly top the Beatport hype charts.

Not just a DJ, Moog Conspiracy is also the mastermind behind Berlin’s Elektrotribe Records and a key figure at the legendary Sisyphos club. With a discography boasting over 200 tracks, remixes, and four studio albums, his output is nothing short of prolific.

Moog Conspiracy’s sound is a carefully crafted blend of techno, leaning into a minimalist vibe with hypnotic beats that keep the dancefloor moving. His influences? A big nod to the Berlin Techno Scene and those classic early Detroit sounds.

About Niemand & Keiner

Niemand & Keiner begegnen sich erstmals 2011 – aus zwei Geschichten wird eine und aus Freundschaft lebt der Sound weiter. Zwischen den Genres Deep House, Melodic Techno, Indie Dance und Tech House verbindet Niemand & Keiner seine Gegensätze: Episch flächige Bässe treffen auf verspielte Melodien, 4/4 Takt  trifft auf Downtempo bis hin zu treibenden Sound, neues trifft auf altbekanntes und jedes Set folgt dem gemeinsamen Plot. 
Musik ist mehr als Schwingung, Musik ist immer auch Raum. Aus diesem Grund gestaltet Niemand & Keiner immer wieder Räume, in Clubs, auf Festivals oder einfach im Park nebenan und erzählen auch auf diese Weise ihre Geschichte - von einer Zeit, in der Open-Airs noch spontan und kostenlos und Rave noch politisch war. Und die Welt geht in Resonanz – zuerst in Berlin, dann europaweit und international. 

Doch wie jede gute Geschichte, so nimmt auch diese eine Wendung – Niemand ist fort gegangen, Keiner ist hier geblieben und mit „Niemand & Keiner“ lebt der Sound weiter.

Niemand & Keiner first met in 2011 – two stories became one, and their friendship gave life to their sound. Between the genres of deep house, melodic techno, indie dance and tech house, Niemand & Keiner combines its opposites: epic, expansive bass lines meet playful melodies, 4/4 time meets downtempo and driving sounds, the new meets the familiar, and each set follows a common plot.
Music is more than vibration; music is always space. For this reason, Niemand & Keiner repeatedly create spaces, in clubs, at festivals or simply in the park next door, and in this way they also tell their story – of a time when open-air events were still spontaneous and free, and raves were still political. And the world resonates – first in Berlin, then across Europe and internationally.

But like every good story, this one also takes a turn – Niemand has gone, Keiner has stayed, and with Niemand & Keiner, the sound lives on.

Music is the only thing, that really counts here.

Berlin-based DJ driven by years of rave culture and a love for musical storytelling. For MOTOW, every set is a progression where the genre always follows the feeling. Born in East Berlin, Oliver Marquardt was first inspired to become a DJ when the 1984 Break Dance Film "Beat Street" permeated the city's isolated music scene. Equally influential was the dance music he listened to broadcasted from West Berlin radio.
After closely following these new music styles - hip hop, acid house etc - Oliver bought his own pair of turntables in 1989.
This was right after the Berlin wall came down, providing fertile soil for the city's new underground music scene to take roots and by the following year Oliver was organizing his own techno parties.
Although his illegal warehouse parties (complete with 50k watt laser lights) were noteworthy in themselves, Oliver forged ahead as one of the first german DJs to establish a nationwide presence. DJ Jauche, as he is known, began a residency at Berlin's legendary „Walfisch“ Club. Also he played regularly at many other Berlin Underground Clubs. By the mid 90's he had presented his unique style throughout Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Italy, Spain, Greece, Russia, Hungary and Malaysia, on top of countless clubs and events in his homeland.
Also mid 90's (1995 exactly) he had started his party "Jauchomatic" ( where he brought his brother Sven Marquardt into the club scene and gave him his first job as a "selector/doorkeeper" . Today Sven is famous for his work as an Artist and Photographer and of course as the " Iron Man" selector of Ostgut and now Berghain Club. ) and also the „Jet Stream Club“ and later the „Night Dimensions“ Party - Series.
Oliver still does his party „ Jauchomatic“ once a year in Berlin.
He plays music from 1988 until 1995, from house over techno to some Oldschool Trance Tracks, Acid and Breakbeats.
While the rest of the world still has been associating Germany with its stark techno output, DJ Jauche nurtured a parallel space for deep house sounds to evolve.
In 1998 he launched Jetstream, a small-scale record label of his own. For the 1999 edition of the annual summer festival Loveparade, Oliver prepared under the name Jack Flash a re-edit of the disco classic "Love is in the Air" and pressed 500 white label copies. When the track became an underground hit, he approached the production team Milk & Sugar (who were running a label under the same name) for advice on giving it a bigger release. Without Oliver's knowledge and with a bigger budget they appointed the track's original singer John Paul Young to record new vocals for their own version of the track and received a worldwide major label re-release in 2001, accompanied by a music video.
