'Mozambique’s Sky White reveals his highly anticipated debut album, ‘Crossing Borders’, on Afrocentric Records. Already turning heads with his own distinctive sound over the past few years, ‘Crossing Borders’ showcases Sky White’s impressive talent for penning raw emotive melodies, where songs and beautifully crafted soundscapes join the dots between Melodic Techno and Afro Tech. The album features some fantastic collaborations with the likes SANDHAUS, Xtetiqsoul & Amel Chrispin, De Cave Man & Tonic Volts, and Kates Le Café, alongside magnetic vocal talents such as Kastro, Vaipatri, and Ronnie Tanny. Across this 14 track story you’ll discover a bold and colourful spectrum of contemporary afrocentric sounds, where haunting, melancholy and heartfelt melodies pirouette around powerful and dramatic dance floor ready grooves.

Lenilson Dos Santos, aka Sky White, is a Producer, Dj and Mozambican Remixer. Starting his musical journey learning the piano at the age of 10, he began playing House Music at just 16 years old, after watching Black Coffee’s Ballantine’s Human Orchestra in 2014 and promptly learned to DJ. He honed his craft by spinning at local parties and events, before producing a selection of his own productions that were promptly signed by Afrocentric Records in 2018, His productions for Afrocentric and other labels such as Guettoz Muzik, My Other Side of the Moon and Xibalo, among others have won the support from both the Afro house and melodic tech DJs alike, including Black Coffee, Tale Of Us, Themba, Ralf GUM, DJeff, Da Capo, Enoo Napa, and XtetiQsoul. 2023 is looking exciting for Sky White as his debut album ‘Crossing Borders’ will be released, and will be playing many events across Mozambique and South Africa club and festival circuits.'

The opening track, "Olha Você," which translates to "Look at you" in Portuguese, throws down a gritty groove with a unique and positive twist. The story behind this infectious banger is as unexpected as the sound itself. Inspired by a heated exchange between his neighbor and their child, Sky White isolated the "Olha Você" part, infusing it with infectious energy. The result? A guaranteed dance floor anthem. Supported by Shimza, Kasango, Bun Xapa and Sona.

Sky White's creative magic shines through in the second track, "Alien Soil." This genre-bending masterpiece is a testament to the power of spontaneous creation. "I just randomly opened my DAW file and started creating," shares Sky White, highlighting his ability to find inspiration in the unexpected. The track is an embodiment of trusting the process and letting your creativity flow freely.

About Us:

We founded the P1lgr1ms team in the spring of 2022, which is a duo formation. We met in the early 2000s at a club in Érd, where we both worked as DJs. Life led us to put our DJ careers on hold due to starting families, but in early 2022, we decided to become more active again. We reached out to each other and since we were both interested in producing, we jointly decided to dive into it!

In 2022, we hadn't achieved significant success yet, and we reappeared behind the decks more as a DJ duo. In the background, we continuously worked to reach a level in production where releasing our own tracks would become possible. We reached this point in 2023. Our first track, "Children's Playground," found a home on the spring Spring Sampler by Stellar Fountain. The work didn't stop, and in the same year, 2023, we managed to get a track on the winter compilation of Be Adult, an Ibiza-based label, where shortly after release, it entered the TOP20 on the Organic Hype Chart. This release was closely followed by an EP on the Rynth label, which marched up to the 2nd place in the Organic category of the releases list. In 2024, we already have signed releases, including our first remix request from Stellar Fountain, which will be released in the spring of 2024 on an EP by an Argentine guy, Nicolas Soria. But it doesn't end there; also in the spring, two other original tracks of ours will be released on an EP format by Stellar Fountain. Furthermore, we know that at Zenebona Records, another reputable Hungarian label, an EP with two original tracks by us will also be released in early 2024.

What else awaits us in 2024, we cannot say for sure, but we are confident that it will be a stronger year than 2023. New tracks are constantly being prepared, and we persistently approach labels. We hope for success, and we invite you to join us on this musical pilgrimage, from which we also derived our name. Those who have experienced our performances know that the next track is never predictable; we always bring something new. 😉
