Based in Kendal, where he works in mental health, Trevor Shepherd (aka Trev) has been playing guitar and composing music since he was a teenager. Currently helping propel contemporary indie-rock outfit Aigars and the Eel to new heights alongside singer-songwriter Sean Moore, and long-time collaborator, bassist Richard (aka Rich) Wilson, Trev was previously the frontman and leading force behind The Dead Letters, a band that likewise included Rich on bass, but also featured my brother Guy on drums and me briefly miscast as a ruthless rock n’ roll manager who made them a fort.. oh, hold on.

This song is a chaotic, dark-comedy ride through the mind of someone who starts their day like any normal student: waking up late, stressing about school, and yelling “FUCK THIS SHIT!” at everyday problems. But suddenly reality spirals into complete absurdity. Presidents appear out of nowhere declaring them a superstar, paparazzi show up at their house, and even legendary figures start pulling them into a bizarre world of fame and conspiracy.

Each time the narrator wakes up, things get stranger: celebrity encounters turn disturbing, fame becomes surreal, and eventually the story dives into wild conspiracy imagery, pyramids, secret societies, and the price of selling your soul for stardom. What started as an ordinary bad morning becomes a twisted satire about celebrity culture, power, and the dark side of fame.

The tone mixes humor, shock, and absurd storytelling, shifting between confused disbelief and rebellious frustration. By the end, the narrator realizes the cost of the chaos, regret, lost innocence, and the haunting feeling that becoming a “superstar” wasn’t worth it after all.

I'm a writer and editor based in Lancaster. Check out my podcasts Pet Projects (in which I interview creative types about their pets - and their projects), First Impressions (a surreal slice of literary cheesecake), and Monkey Scribbling (two older blokes reflect on their youth in the '90s through the letters they exchanged at the time). 

Pet Projects is a collaboration with Ana Rebolledo and Monkey Scribbling with Richard Pye. 

The family band I formed with my brother, Decaying Leather, in 1989 continues to write and record. Our music can also be found on SoundCloud and elsewhere.

AMAN is a 23 year old producer in the U.S.A of Colorado using FL Studio and does mashups in the EDM scene.

After hearing mashups in and out of EDM in the 2010s, he began started music production in 2022.
