Third installment of this series of 4 episodes (one for each season of the year) consisting of a selection of the best tracks in “slow motion” (Daytime Disco, Yatch Disco...), compiled from all the sessions I have published on Soundcloud, with the addition of six new tracks of recent acquisition, to give a new touch to the mix. I hope you like it.

Winter Time In Slow Motion

Landing with an almighty bass bin rumbling on Sprechen is another northern musical disciple from around our way. Kiaki has been a regular visitor to many a Sprechen and Sticky Heat social and defo knows his onions when it comes to rocking the discotheques. With previous releases on Me Me Me and the likes of Erol Alkan giving hi props its with a mega vibe that we welcome him to the label!

Northern Solar is a straight up, lost in the sweat & smoke kind of club track. Hypnotic and hooky with its relentless pulsating low end thud & rumbles accompanied by synth stabs and squelches a like. One for the mutant acid militia.

And Then Some does what it says on the tin and then some. Slower paced and stripped back allowing for a more infectious groove to take over. But still packing bags of electronic drama. Perfect 'transition track' for when you need to flip things up a notch (or 2). Kind of peaky but not to much, what we like to call at Sprechen as a 'subtle banger'.

If you're a fan of DJ Supermarkt's 'Too Slow To Disco' series you'll want to to check for this new three-tracker from Ben Jamin immediately, because the Liverpool-based producer - who's racked up releases on the likes of Hot Gorilla, Discoholics Anonymous, Hot Digits and, yes, Too Slow To Disco - captures that mid-70s yacht rock and Quiet Storm soul vibe perfectly. The title track is a sleek, sophisticated slow jam with jazzy overtones - if you'd told this writer it was a long-lost Captain & Tenille cut, I'd have believed you! - while 'Destiny' treads a more straight-up disco path and 'I'm Dancing' drops down into a low-slung funk groove, but you'll have to pick your own standout here... all three are so good that picking a favourite seems a tad redundant!

Longtime Paper artist and Reykjavík resident Gauti Björnsson has been digging through his archives and uncovered four absolute crackers from his retired B.G. Baarregaard alias. 

Down and Under is trippy main room deep house. Solid beats, locked in subby bass, delayed stabs and a nagging groove drive a coach and horses straight through the middle of a dance floor of smiling faces.

Feels Like features Simen Aasen on bass for a heavy nu disco groove that will work from bar to club. Snatches of keys and vocals ride the pads as it swings and weaves its Icelandic magic.

The two parts of Eternal Affection change gear into downtempo territory. Part I brings to mind the era of Kruder & Dorfmeister's K & D Sessions and the Thievery Corporation. Deep, dubby and trippy.

Part II drops the tempo even further but increases the wonk. It's the sound of the sun starting to come through the curtains after a big night out.
