2.	Nchini Chad, taifa lililoko kaskazini-kati mwa Afrika mkunga mmoja amehamia kwa muda katika kambi ya wakimbizi ili kuhakikisha wajawazito wanapata huduma bora kabla na baada ya kujifungua kama njia mojawapo ya kuepusha vifo vya wajawazito na watoto wachanga.
3.	Makala inatupeleka nchini Kenya kumulika mradi wa shirika la Umoja wa Mataifa la chakula na kilimo FAO, wa kulinda lishe ya wasiojiweza unavyoleta mabadiliko katika  jamii kuanzia kaunti ya Turkana hadi kwenye kambi ya wakimbizi ya Kakuma.
4.	Katika mashinani fursa ni yake Dkt Annett Alenyo Ngabirano kutoka Uganda akisema juhudi za Shirika la Umoja wa Mataifa la Afya Duniani WHO na Wizara ya Afya ya Uganda zimeweza kudhibiti mlipuko wa ugonjwa wa Ebola nchini humo, WHO ikitoa msaada wa vifaa vya matumizi, dawa ya hospitali, msaada wa kiufundi na kuratibu wadau katika idara hiyo.

This national mood inspired people to put aside the clan identities so heavily manipulated by the colonial powers and dedicate themselves to the creation of a new, culturally authentic, but also modern, national identity. And this was expressed in gorgeous, lyrical songs with influences from Arab art music, Hindi film songs and rich local traditions. Our principal guide is Lidwien Kapteijns (Professor of History at Wellesley College) whose book Women’s Voices in a Man’s World focuses on popular songs of this hopeful era shaped the changing lives and status of women. We’ll hear beautiful archival recordings and get inside the crucial debates and gender negotiations contained in their lyrics. We’ll also learn why the promise of this all-but-forgotten era have never been realized in Somalia.  Produced by Banning Eyre.

"The time to step up is now" in Somalia, where drought threatens nutrition for 1.7 million young children at risk of global acute malnutrition, the World Food Programme (WFP) said on Tuesday. 

WFP spokesperson Jean-Martin Bauer, speaking from Rome, called on donors and partners to increase funding to the country of some 19 million people. 

"We've learned in Somalia from past experience that that delays can be deadly, and we need resources to provide support to these very vulnerable groups," he said.
