This is a wild Dance from New Years Day at Resolution New Years Festival in New Zealand. The whole festival shuts down for this epic event and no other workshops are on during it meaning that this one is packed with big energy and all round positive uplifting vibes.

Ecstatic Dance- Resolution Festival New Years Day 2023

This was my first event back in my hometown after being abroad and it was beautiful to see so many familiar faces and feel you all on the dance-floor.

This dance came at a time when there was A LOT going on, not only for me as the facilitator, but in the wider collective. Not to mention we were midway through Eclipse season. My co- facilitator Lexi and I took the opportunity to work with the polarity that comes with the   lunar eclipse, dark meets light and there is the potential for our shadow to come to the surface. This isn't always easy to see and feel so we worked with the adrenals throughout this dance,  tuning first into the calm state of our body available to us and slowly feeling into the stress responses that we feel in life, moment to moment, which ultimately are there to keep us safe- and how do we switch between the calm and stressed by self regulating, whilst also getting curious - curious to look at what comes up without judgement. By moving through these responses with awareness and a felt sense of returning to calm whenever we need with the tools we have- utilising the breath, focusing on your back body, counting a box breath, tapping, engaging in the senses, essentially coming into the present moment. 

This journey is deep and punchy, but has heaps of space and ends in a beautiful, peaceful reset nervous system. 

Will be sick for a gym sesh too.

You are the care. 
CURA is more than a performance. It is a ritual of reconnection. A space to breathe, to feel, to remember.

In this collaborative piece, Sophie Lazari guides us with their voice – clear, soft, embodied. Their bilingual meditation (German & Italian) invites us to pause and explore: 
What does it mean to truly care for ourselves? 
How do we meet pain with tenderness – so we can be present for others with integrity?

The soundscape by me forms a subtle energetic architecture. These frequencies don’t lead – they hold. They remind us that healing is not something we consume, but something we already carry within.
This is where the deeper truth lives:  Self-healing is not isolation.  It is self-contact.  And through that contact, we become permeable for others again.
We believe:
 🜂 That every human being has regenerative forces within – often buried beneath trauma, pressure, shame.
 🜁 That music and movement can help unlock these forces through resonance, rhythm and release.
 🜃 That vulnerability, when shared in safe spaces, becomes a source of connection, not weakness.

CURA unfolds in two movements:

Usually seen tearing up the dance floor herself, Lioness is growing into her name with a fearless fusion of sounds delivering energetic, genre-bending sets that keep the crowd moving and always guessing.

As a somatic dance facilitator and DJ, I create a variety of dance journeys. I love to play especially electronic & melodic soundscapes that gives you a dynamic and powerful, but also sensual and grounding dance journey.
