Im vergangenen Jahr wurde ich mehrfach und unerwartet mit dem Thema Tod und Abschied im persönlichen Umfeld konfrontiert.
Jede Geschichte dahinter war anders tragisch, schmerzhaft, unerwartet und jeder Abschied liess mich ratlos und fragend zurück. "Stummes Herz" gibt keine Antworten und versucht keinen tieferen Sinn hinter all der Tragik und dem Schmerz zu erklären.
Der Song ist eher ein Tagebucheintrag, welcher kein Gestern und kein Morgen kennt. 
Eine Momentaufnahme der Verarbeitung vorhandener Emotionen, Fragen, Ratlosigkeit und Wut.
.
Ich widme diesen Song einer jungen Frau, 
die mit ihrem Lachen, ihrer Lebensfreude und ihrem Glauben für mich und für viele Menschen ein Segen, eine Bereicherung und ein Vorbild war.
Auch wenn ich weiss, dass sie nun 
an einem besseren Ort ist, ihr Tod bleibt sinnlos.

In der Musik hat Christian Kittel seinen Ort gefunden, an dem er Gedanken, Gefühlen, Fragen und seinem Glauben eine Melodie und Sprache geben kann. Einen Ort der ihm hilft, die vielen kleinen, grossen, süssen und auch bitteren Momente, welche das Leben so bereithält, einzuordnen, zu lieben und zu konservieren.
 
In den Texten des deutschen Singer-Songwriters schwingt daher immer etwas Schwere und Melancholie, die zum Zuhören einlädt und berühren möchte.

1978 im Osten von Deutschland geboren, zog es Christian Kittel 2005 in die Ostschweiz, wo er bis heute mit seiner Familie lebt. Bis Mitte 2020 war Christian Kittel als Keyboarder, Gitarrist und Sänger in der christlichen Band «Jericho System» Mitglied, für deren erste EP (#alpha) er drei Songs schrieb. Nebst Familie und Job beschäftigt er sich mit Fotografie, engagiert sich musikalisch in einer lokalen Kirchgemeinde und ist in diversen anderen Projekten aktiv.
