Hey everyone! I'm finally back with this series for those who've been waiting for it - this time with the second part of Sumeru, the Great Red Sand!

So for this one I wanted to lean into the more mystical / ancient vibe, and one way I thought would be perfect for this would be to reference Sonic Riders' music. So, this track takes inspiration from themes like Jungle Joyride and Dusty Desert, but also the sort of sacred trance-esque music Sonic Riders does.

I wanted to reuse some motifs I used in Verdant Jungle to create a connection so using the Sumeru battle theme, which is basically a variation of a rhythm found in Sumeru's main theme, is the way I did that without making it sound too same-y. Other than that, this also uses a manipulated version of the melody of the track "Smoldering Glow", as well as "Across Dimming Asterisms" for the climax segment.

Sitraka RAKOTOVAO, known as Eresse, is a music producer specializing in Sonic the Hedgehog-themed tracks. Starting his musical journey in 2017 with electronic music influenced by classical roots, he initially released his debut album 'Action' using FL Studio Mobile. Transitioning to computer-based production in 2019, Eresse unlocked new creative possibilities.

In 2020, his focus shifted primarily to Sonic the Hedgehog music, gaining significant traction on his YouTube channel. Notably, his track "Hyperspace" from the album "The Adventures" surpassed 120 million streams on TikTok, showcasing his growing influence.

Eresse's genre preferences evolved from Dubstep to rock and metal, reflecting his dynamic style. Celebrating the Fearless Year of Shadow in 2024, he produced numerous covers and original tracks, including a notable collaboration with Johnny Gioeli, the lead singer of the iconic band Crush 40, renowned for their contributions to the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.

Currently, Eresse is working on his album 'Darkness,' continuing to create immersive Sonic-themed tracks with the ambition to compose for games or movies, cementing his place in the Sonic music community.
