my first solo freqshow set at bissap baobob 2-15-25! my playlists all got deleted like 1 hour before the show and had some transit hiccups so a lot of this was all the fly with no prep but i feel like it came together super nicely, probably my favorite house mix i've done. check it out :)

'O Rio' is the first release of my EP 'Wanderlust I: Brazil'. In this new series I travel (figuratively) to other worlds, and with the inspiration from this journey I create a world of my own through music. 

This time I ‘traveled’ to Brazil, immersing myself in its rich (music) culture and nature (of course, as far as I can from a distance). I voyaged from bossa nova to baile funk, sailed on the Amazon river through rich ecosystems, and enjoyed Brazil’s vibrant beach culture. 

This series emerged out of a desire to explore other worlds without physically going there. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to go to other worlds, such as Brazil. Allow me to explain: from a pragmatic perspective travelling is just very expensive, at least for me. From a more ethical point of view traveling (especially by plane) is almost always unsustainable in many ways. Travel often promotes climate change, leads to environmental degradation, and can create patterns of inequality in the country of destination. I’m not saying we should not travel anymore, but I find it important to rethink our travel patterns, including our motives to travel. I also know that physically travelling to a world is always more immersive and offers a richer experience. This is not an attempt to create music that is a pure reflection of that world (in this case Brazil). Rather, it is a fun experiment in which I integrate elements of that world that speak to me the most and which I subsequently translate into music that moves me in some way, and in doing so I hope to move (something in) you as well.

I am Jay Latune: a house dj and producer from Amsterdam who is on a never-ending mission to push creative, intellectual, and emotional boundaries through house music and creative concepts. Become part of this mission by listening, sharing the dancefloor, or by simply sending a message. 

My creations are versatile, experimental, and heavily influenced by disco and latin music.

Until so far my tracks have accumulated over 100 million streams with releases on labels like OVRDOSE Records (Menesix), Potion Records (The Magician), Top Right Records (warner case) and HOUZ, and I had the opportunity to play at some amazing venues and events such as the Paradiso, Colorado Charlie, and The Cuckoo’s Nest.
