‘Untamed, on a solitary mountain’, will be an immersive sound installation that explores the intimate and often paradoxical emotions of mothering, refracted through the fragments of a narrative derived from my own experience and dialogues with new mothers. The project combines scripted voiceovers, improvised and composed choral odes, breathwork, and generative soundscapes. Featuring two actors, a contralto, two sopranos and a mezzo soprano singer, the piece evokes both the expansiveness and confinement of motherhood.

Untamed, On A Solitary Mountain (excerpt)

Hymnos by Claudia Radulescu is a sound installation first presented in 1999 in a park near Antwerp. The melody, composed by Michel Hatzigeorgiou, draws on national anthems and symphonic themes, tinged with rebetiko. In 2020, it was revived in Elisabeth Park, Bastogne, during her solo show at the city’s contemporary art center, the Orangerie. Broadcast over six months, the sound settled into the landscape and began to resonate with the city. On 12 September 2025, for the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, Claudia decides to gift the work to Bastogne. A vinyl release brings together the original recordings and new interpretations by musicians connected to moli del tro and local residents. Hymnos is a permanent work, an anthem offered to the community.

« Une légende raconte que deux hommes marchaient dans le désert, chacun avec un livre sous son bras. Alors que la pluie se mit à tomber fortement, l’un des deux hommes se servit de son livre pour s’abriter. Toute l’encre du livre a ruisselé sur son corps, effaçant les mots des pages et colorant sa peau en noire. Dans le même temps, l’autre homme a mis son livre sous son bras. Ce dernier a conservé ses mots et sa couleur, il a dominé celui qui a perdu les mots.»

Athar Dakira propose une plongée dans les chants des harratines, nom donné aux esclaves et affranchis dans le Sahara au Nord et à l’Ouest de l’Afrique, où des formes d’esclavage restent aujourd’hui très répandues bien qu’elles soient officiellement abolies. Scandée dans des espaces mouvants et clandestins au cœur du désert, ces chants ouvrent des intervalles pour la récupération de leurs droits, de leurs identités et de leurs histoires confisquées.

La pièce sonore Athar Dakira nous plonge dans ces récits, dont les lignes rencontrent des sons tirés d'instruments façonnés à partir de la flore saharienne. Dans cet échange entre l'humain et la plante, la terre et la voix se prolongent l'une l'autre. La composition se déploie par vagues, dans un voyage archipélique où les silences forment le récit et où les phrases dissimulent autant qu'elles révèlent.

"They stuck in 3D" is an idiom referring to people who are limited by their perception of reality, focusing on the physical world and material possessions rather than spiritual growth or deeper understanding.

This is a sound installation—referred to as a sound bath— I created for Trapholt Museum’s exhibition on Nanna Ditzel. The idea was to design ambient, meditative sound that complemented Nanna Ditzel’s furniture, inviting visitors to settle in and experience the work in a deeper, more sensory way.

Our sound bath plays continuously in a quiet exhibition room where Ditzel’s designs are displayed. It echoes the playful, abstract, and timeless qualities of her work, with nature as a strong point of inspiration—just as in Ditzel’s own creations .

For "Gummicellen", I crafted a 30-minute ambient piece with sound design inspired by the texture and feel of rubber. The goal was to create an immersive, otherworldly atmosphere—perfect for visitors who doze off comfortably in the soft, foam furniture.

The installation is meant to be simple, accessible, and calming—just like sitting in Ditzel’s furniture should feel. It’s ambient sound that invites you to pause, breathe, and let the design and atmosphere carry you into a moment of quiet reflection.

We set up a surround sound system in the exhibition rooms so that the music would surround the visitor. The score was then controlled from a laptop with Ableton Live.

The sound bath was exhibited from the 16 to 17 March 2024.
