🎸 Session #312: A Journey Through Tones and Classics 🎶

Embark on a musical journey with Session #312, where each track is a testament to the versatility and depth of guitar music. From the multiple warm-ups of "Blue Sky" to the intricate layers of JerryC's "Canon Rock," this session is an exploration of sound and technique.

Track 1: A showcase of various tones, setting the stage for the rest of the session.

Tracks 2 & 3: Capture the essence of "Blue Sky" and "Canon Rock" with a dry approach, later enhanced with Tape and Reverb for that full, rich sound.

Tracks 5-8: My tone evolves, especially from track 5 with "Emerald Attempt" and into the Thin Lizzy classics "Cowboy Song" and "Jailbreak," both in Rhythm and Lead versions.

Track 10: A simple warm-up from E Eflat to E Standard, serving as a prelude to the soulful rendition of "Whipping Post" in Track 11.

Johnson is a lo-fi indie guitarist and singer-songwriter from the North East of England, known for his atmospheric soundscapes and intimate melodies. Supported by ABUS MUSIC, he records under various guises, including Johnson, Johnson and The Phantom Ramms, and Abus Soundscapes, which can all be found on Soundcloud.

His latest project, Within, Without (2024), offers brand-new tracks that explore themes of introspection, blending raw lo-fi textures with hauntingly melodic elements. 

Past collaborations include The Middle Of Life with UK singer songwriter  Brian Peters  and Brazilian artist John Alberto Moraes. The latter collaboration  resulting in  releases such as The Departures EP.

Johnson's previous EP, Singing to Rooks (2016), is available on Bandcamp and continues to resonate with fans of indie and lo-fi guitar music. The EP  can also be found on YouTube and other music platforms like Spotify and Amazon Muisc. 

Chosen as Soundclouder of the Day, his  “smooth, complex, and melodic,” Johnson’s instrumental work on Crossing the River' highlights his intricate guitar style.
