This project is an academic work for a course at the Athens School of Fine Arts and it is not used for commercial purposes.

With the indicative theme “Wasted”, my personal approach is about the concept of difference on any level, especially when it is about people who are considered different and the alienation from social groups. Using the example of the mentally disturbed and paralleling it with the word monster, a sound collage was created that tries to present a different perspective of the issue.
Given my personal love of fantasy films, I used words, phrases, monologues, dialogues and audio material, such as features and famous soundtracks, which after study, were separated, processed and they were cut so as to assemble a kind of script.
I followed a  path close to that of a group therapy. I tried to render what it would sound like if we had all these big monsters and the movie psychopaths, in a room, asking the question “What’s Like to be You?”, letting them tell us their own stories and let us know things from their perspective.
So we have the opportunity to perceive the ones that are different in other dimensions, to think and reflect on the behavior we have towards something or someone different and to see more clearly how such people are treated like the garbage of society and are not accepted.
The audio clips used underwent changes that mainly come down to those of cutting and pasting, we could, let's say, a montage in essence, but also of speed, mainly using effects that slowed down the sound and the words being heard, for more clarity and emphasis.
