"Reza Muda" was born out of an attempt to create another song. It was a completely different chord progression I was trying to develop while playing with my newest pedal, the Superego Plus. In the midst of this "musician's block", that "F#m to G" sprouted in my head, so I abandoned the original song to play those two chords, added three more, put it in the loop and it sounded complete. From then on, that chord structure  in the loop sort of created all the rest; solo, textures, etc.

I feel the best translation of Reza Muda from Portuguese into English is "voiceless prayer", because that's how it sounds to me. It sounds like a prayer, an orison from one who can't say the words. It's an instrumental piece composed by an atheist, so it fits.

Between the start of the covid-19 pandemics and the end of 2021, I fell victim to a creative fever that forced me to record thirteen instrumental songs that were buzzing inside my head at that time. Oh, almost forgot: I also became a dad. 

As you can listen, I should have spent more time learning how to record, mix and, most importantly, how to play the instruments, but the fever was strong, the uncertainty about whether or not I would still be here on earth next week was stronger, so I decided to materialize these musical ideas with my limited "musician/music producer" skills at the time anyway.

After a year or so I revisit these songs in an attempt to polish them through some basic mastering, to make them less hard to endure, and now something tells me that, between keeping it all a secret or making it public, the latter seems to be the way to go.

So here they are.  All songs composed, played and recorded by myself in my room using a multi-effects processor, a guitar, a bass, a keyboard, an e-drum kit, an audio interface and Audacity.

It's getting bigger everyday.

My music isn't very categorised. I have quite some categories I think. I just want to make everything I think of when I hear synths and sounds and even sing along when I feel like.

A lot of experimenting, f*cking around and finding out, getting happily lost in the world of sounds 🥰 Meanwhile trying to master the endless possibilities of digital music making. FL Studio, a midi keyboard and me.

I am building this world to give an extra dimension to my current (musical) reality as a piano teacher and choir conductor.
🌬 Life is demanding and I need a way out sometimes (often!).

This summer I'll try to share more of that world. With almost 200 tracks on soundcloud it's time to go next level! ☀️
