The Swiss based DJ has been playing music since an early age, soaking up the house, techno and hip hop sounds that currently influence his sets.  As part of the Swiss Secret Society crew, Disco Channel plays regularly around Geneva, and has had his music released on labels like Ateria Music and Littlehouse Records.

Timo has been a dominant figure on the electronic scene for many years now.  Hailing from the small town of Buckeburg in Germany, Timo was DJing in the local clubs and in nearby Hannover from the age of 15. As rave culture took off in Germany, Timo latched on to this new musical revolution, DJing not only in his native Germany but also around Europe.  Productions followed, and by the end of the 1990s, Timo was a cranking out releases and big remixes for artists like Azzido Da Bass, Green Velvet, Depeche Mode, Fatboy Slim and many more.

A resident DJ at Ibiza’s DC10 for over ten years, and a DJ schedule that covers the world, Timo is currently busy with his label Rockets & Ponies, a newly released mix album on the My Favourite Robot label, and plenty of DJ dates…

This week our special guest on the Cadenza Source to Cycle podcast is Vince Watson.  Originally from Scotland, and now living in Amsterdam, Vince has been a name long associated with quality deep techno.  Having studied music in Glasgow from an early age, Vince got his first break in 1996, signing his first release to Dave Angel’s Rotation Records.  Since that inaugural release, Vince has gone on to deliver many singles for labels like Primate, Planet E, Ibadan, Delsin, Tresor and his own Bio label.   Vince has also been a prolific album artist, with no less than nine albums produced over the years.

A terrific live performer and DJ, Vince has a new single out on Poker Flat Recordings and plenty of DJ activity over the coming months.

Welcome back to the Cadenza Music Source to Cycle podcast.  Rob Mello is a DJ and producer that has been right at the epicenter of the British house movement since the early 90s.  Along with Zaki Dee, Rob made up one half of Disco Elements, Jump Cutz, House Of Whacks and Sensory Elements, releasing a slew of groundbreaking disco cut up records on the labels Luxury Service and Azuli.

Rob also contributed to the widely acclaimed Black Science Orchestra project, alongside Ashley Beedle and others. 

As a solo artist, Rob has become synonymous with the Classic Recording Company, the label owned by Derrick Carter & Luke Solomon, with Rob releasing various singles for Classic over the years.  Rob has also moved into film score work over the years, working alongside Matthew Herbert on the 1999 film, Human Traffic amongst others.

Our special guest this week on the Source to Cycle is Adam Shelton.

The Birmingham DJ and producer is fast becoming a rising star on the UK scene, despite having been involved in the scene for many years.  His label, One Records, was rolled out in 2009, the first release being from Adam himself, alongside fellow Brummie, Subb-an.  The label has built steadily over the years and has become a trusted home to quality house music, featuring artists like Jordan Peak, Burnski, Hector and DJ Wild, amongst many others.

In 2005, Adam founded the now legendary Below parties, at the Rainbow in Birmingham, which has hosted a who’s who of international DJ talent from names like Derrick May, DJ Sneak, Todd Terry, Craig Richards and many more.

With his label now celebrating 5 years in the game, with showcase nights in London, Manchester and Paris over the coming weeks, and a big New Years Day session at his Below party, Adam’s a busy guy, so it’s great to catch him in action on the weeks Source to Cycle…..

As founder of the Glasgow Underground label in 1997, Kevin has been pushing artists like Romanthony, Mateo & Matos, Idjut Boys, Cassio Ware, DJ Q and Milton Jackson since the label’s inception, and has built up a highly respected catalogue over the years.  Kevin also set up the Breastfed label, which released the platinum selling ‘Destroy Rock N Roll’ album by Mylo.

With a new series of Glasgow Underground compilation albums about to drop over the coming months, and new releases from the likes of Detroit Swindle, Oxia and Detlef, the label continues to go from strength to strength.  Kevin also has his own productions and remixes coming on labels like Exploited, OFF Recordings, Noir Music, Material, Viva and Toolroom Trax, so keep an ear out for those.

Our special guest on this week’s Source to Cycle podcast from Cadenza Music is Chris Tietjen.

Receiving his big break in Ibiza, filling in for Sven Vath at the tender age of 18, Chris swiftly began to DJ at Cocoon events worldwide and went on to join their roster of artists and also mix the first ever Cocoon compilation CD.

Over the years, Chris has performed at many big festivals and clubs such as Love Family Park, Green & Blue, Amnesia in Ibiza and Cocorico in Rome, and continues to play an important part in the Cocoon family.

Since his early years then, he’s made a big impression on the international house and techno scenes, proving himself a highly skilled and musically entertaining DJ, and a go- to producer for many.  His music has also been released by labels like Tsuba, Drumpoet Community, Oslo and many more.  A new release is due on Sven Vath’s Cocoon label also this month.

Ryan Crosson, a Detroit native, has been running Visionquest alongside Shaun Reeves & Lee Curtiss for the last several years and has built quite a name for himself in the process.  He is a talented producer with recent releases on Monologue Music, Brachtune, MDRNTY Records but importantly is planning a vinyl-only EP with Cadenza mainstay Cesar Merveille titled ‘Dream State’ due in early June on Visionquest.
