Happy Friday Disco People! I'm sharing a new mix today to help you start your weekend off right. Inspired by the beach that I’m typing this up from 🏝, this might be one of my favorite “Label Spotlight” sets to date! 

In this month's “Label Spotlight Mix,” take a 90-minute journey through the archives of @rare-wiri-records 

I’m super-excited to share this mix with you after digging through all of Rare Wiri’s 200+ releases over the last 15 years.

Rare Wire is a Spanish record label founded in 2008 by @mrkrokett. It's focused on Nu Disco, Balearic, Synthwave, Dark Disco and everything between. 

This mix is my selection of many of the label’s “cosmic disco” releases to provide some sunny beach vibes, as well as some funkier tracks to keep things moving.

Julian M has been pioneering on the Romanian Electronic Music scene since 1999, when the clubbing movement was just starting to emerge.
After creating Future fm in 1998, the first pirate radiostation which promoted exclusively Electronic Music, his love for music made him get actively involved in organizing the first Electronic Music events on the coast of the Black Sea.

Julian also produced radioshows on various radio stations, most notably the Groove Hour on Pro Fm between 2005-2007, Beat Lab & Area Lounge on BIN Radio between 2014-2021, and was a resident DJ for many years in different venues, now relying on over 2 decades of mixing experience.
As a producer, he released materials on several labels (Glory Box Records, FIR Records) and was the first Romanian artist to appear consecutively on FOEM Electronic Youth compilations.

Besides regular radioshows and gigs all over the country, Julian M also played at the main festivals in Romania - Electric Castle, Untold, Neversea, Summer Well, MusicOutdoorExperience and lately he initiated a series of events using vintage cassette tapes and vintage equipment with new recordings, called Area Lounge.
Julian enjoys creating true musical journeys, his eclectic & melodic mix sets passing through a variety of styles, from Downtempo & Balearic to Funky, Soulful Deep-House & Progressive.

A worldwide radio based in Nantes, focused on the local scene & with some guests. Balearic, tropical sounds, dance music & trippy electronic.
