Enter (trippy mix)

This is a cut from a 25 minute mix. Sorry about the distortion in parts. Have about 3-4 sequencers running at the same time so can mute/unmute various sounds/loops during the recording. Clavia micro modular is the metallic synth in the rather long intro. Also used a controller to edit/play sounds in real time. Good fun:) As usual, recommend listening on headphones (not too loud mind;)).

Connected (crazy mix)

Been experimenting with longer mixes lately (as you may have noticed), also have a tendency to recycle various motives/patterns again and again:) The main star in this mix is the Moog Subharmonicon bass line. The weird solo (comes in 2x) was played live with a midi controller and is an original patch made on a E-MU Planet Earth module. Rather like this one:) Headphones recommended!

Connected (subby mix)

24 minutes of House beats & synth sounds including: 
Crave (7 step seq.), Mophatt (female vox), Planet Earth (weird solo sound), ER-1, DR-1 mk IV, Subharmonicon (bass), JV-2080 (various perc.), Micro modular (i.e. rising sine waves), Octatrack (2 vox samples). Parts of the track are improvised using a midi keyboard to play the synth various patches:) 

Ps. Highly recommend listening on decent headphones.

Naisu

The original Tape Lab track has been travelling back & forth between the East coast of US & Norway (“just outside Oslo”) for a few weeks now until it magically morphed into this short “radio mix” version. All vocoding & words by Tape Lab (except for “that is incorrect”). Includes a Moog and a Boog together with many, many more synthesizers and drum machines:) Main 2 bar chord loop (JV-2080) and added drums by Brillman. The remix was made using Traktor/Kontrol S8.

Made this one mid august when there were fires raging in various parts of the planet. A laidback groove with a serious comment on global warming/climate change. As usual, recommend using headphones for best audio experience.

SPEAK AND SPELL FOR SYNTHV???

Had fun making this. Been jamming with a small «live setup» separate to the main studio so very limited selection of sound sources:) Can you guess the 3 synths in action? (One is not a synth per se). Quite like the energy in this one though no arrangment as such. Trial and error mostly so made a quick test before recording. Sampler & vocoder included here:) Mastered 16 bit wav. Headphones recommended.

There are 4 synths (one is not a synth per se) in action apart from the drum machine. Quite pleased with the sounds and mix in this one. Sampler but no vocoder this time. Only light mastering (16 bit wav). Headphones recommended.

High

Been a while since I made some Techno:) Just jammin’ with a few machines (small set up). BPM ca 123. Lost all sense of time while making this one so is a bit too long. Headphones recommended.

They figured it out!

A really long jam that was pre-prepared (certain aspects i.e. samples, patches, drum patterns, etc) but mostly improvised. Tempo is 134 bpm. Really getting a Moby vibe from this one (Techno days) but that was not intentional:) Only noticed this while mastering. Not too mad about the Roland D-beam synth though. 4 synths, 1 sampler, 1 drum machine. 
Headphones recommended:) Enjoy the groove!

Freedom

Just jammin’ & testing some gear:) Apart from the guitar riffs here and there the Moog Labyrinth takes the spotlight in «VCW» (as the title suggests:)) Headphones are nice. 
A technical note: The Labyrinth was not midi synced to the rest of the track so it runs at a separate bpm (not sure how fast). Enjoy the ride and thanks for listening!

Freshly made a couple of days ago:) Fairly minimal for me. Headphones recommended or loud in a club?

Kind of in the same vein as my previous track “C10”. Freshly made/mastered:) 24 bit 48 khz wav here. Definitely recommend listening on headphones!

Brillman has been an electronic online musician during the last 20 years using many different names: Brillman, Controlfreak, freakcontrol, Red Karma, Atmosphere, Zero Loop, Pan64, Randomcontrol, geometric delay and Superfreak! Brillman mainly creates original sounds from hardware synths but also uses guitar, samplers, vocals or even poetry. He primarily utilizes a 4 to the floor approach. The aesthetics behind the music is about finding a balance between minimalism vs. depth & improvisation vs. programmed.
