After having saved the world from the evil Demon Lord, Hawk Aegis put down his sword and shield, and decided to live a peaceful life back in his hometown. But one day, he was suddenly killed after being run over by a runaway horse and carriage. He awoke in a strange and unfamiliar world in which magic and monsters didn't exist, yet technology was incredibly advanced compared to the world he came from. 

Hawk soon discovers a strange device called a "game console", where he is able to control an avatar in what appears to be another world. He realizes that many of the rules of these "video games" apply to his own home world, and being that he was the most powerful hero in that world, he quickly adapts to these games and becomes an expert at them in a very short time. He soon finds out that there are some gamers who compete to conquer these video games in the fastest times possible, and so Hawk decides to try and become the champion and reach the top of the leaderboards!
