Poco antes del estallido de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, una joven monja polaca, sencilla, sin educación, recibe una llamada especial. 

Jesús le dice: "Te envío con Mi misericordia a la gente de todo el mundo. No quiero castigar a la humanidad, pero deseo curarla, apretándola contra Mi Corazón misericordioso".  

Jesús también le dice a Sor Faustina que escriba Su mensaje de misericordia en un diario: "Tú eres la secretaria de Mi Misericordia. Te he elegido para ese oficio en esta y en la próxima vida".  

Estas palabras de Jesús se encuentran en el Diario de Santa María Faustina Kowalska, que relata la gran experiencia de la Divina Misericordia de Sor Faustina en su alma y su misión de compartir esa misericordia con el mundo.  

Aunque Sor Faustina murió en 1938 a la edad de 43 años y sin haber tenido ningún reconocimiento en vida, fue aclamada por el Papa Juan Pablo II al nombrarla como "la gran apóstol de la Divina Misericordia en nuestros tiempos". 

El 30 de abril de 2000, la canonizó como santa Faustina, diciendo que el mensaje de la Divina Misericordia que ella compartió con la humanidad es urgente repartir en los albores del Nuevo Milenio.  

Se han vendido más de 800.000 copias del Diario en todo el mundo.  Al leer el Diario uno puede reconocer la confianza infantil, la sencillez y la intimidad que esta mujer mística tuvo con Jesús lo cual sin duda conmoverán tu corazón y tu alma.
