Stellar Drama

This one is more like (a lot of) my previous works. It is pretty long, slow and has a heavy and dark quality to it. I like artists like Abul Mogard, Alessandro Cortini and Secret Pyramid because they have made albums which contain long, slow progressing and heavy sounding songs. I like it when artists make songs that create a certain tension and give of a hunting feeling without using to much instrumentation. These kind of songs drive and thrive on the feelings that they evoke and therefore leave a lot to the imagination of the listener. When I was working on this song it did just that. There isn’t a lot happening but the sounds and the long and slow progression of the chords give of a certain heavy and dark feeling that speaks to me. The title came to me weeks (maybe months) before I even started working on this song. I have different thoughts about the title but I like to leave it to the reader and/or listener. The title can mean whatever it means and I leave that up to you.

They Are Still Here And We Have Never Left

This is the first song on which I have used a recording of myself playing the guitar. It turned out pretty good in my opinion. I have used an EBow ‘look-alike’ called the Joyo JGE-01 Infinite Sustainer. Since the release of the Blackwater Park album by Opeth (and on several songs on the Deadwing album of Porcupine Tree) I was captivated by a particular sound that I could not quite identify. After a few years I ‘discovered’ that it was an EBow that was used on the guitar. Since then I always wanted to own such a device to play along an recreate that sound. Now I have finally used a guitar on a song with a similar device like an EBow. I used a VST by Hainbach (Landfill Totems) that I have used on more of my songs. I made some samples using the Landfill Totems VST and used these. I also used one of my go to VST’s by Spitfire Audio called Labs. On this song I have used the recordings of a Ondes Musicales. I cool instrument with a very distinctive sound. The percussive sounds also come from the Labs VST by Spitfire Audio. The song sounds more experimental than my previous work. According to some feedback it sounds a bit like The Gathering (one of my favorite bands) although that wasn’t my intention. You cannot escape influences by other artists so if it is (unintentionally and subconsciously) inspired by them; so be it. I like how this one turned out. I am curious what others think about this one. The title is an anagram by the way. It is an anagram of the most simple things imaginable and I will leave it to you to figure it out. Seeing and experiencing the world as it is today and still hoping for a better world I liked the ring of it so I chose this as the title.

A Daring Utopian

As Ämpers@nd I am producing (largely but not always intentionally) melancholic and dark-sounding ambient and soundscapes. Occasionally I produce chill and relaxing (almost meditative) songs and (experimental) electronic music.

NemoralisMusic is a solo project producing instrumental music and video content. It is a showcase of media I have enjoyed creating which I hope you will enjoy experiencing in your own way. I release work, not in the hope that you can experience what inspired me, but in the hope that you can enjoy it in a way I couldn’t imagine.
When you visit an art gallery do you look at the little information plaque before enjoying the work so you can have the finer details explained to you? There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. However I’m interested in the concept of avoiding this. I believe everyone experiences art differently and notices unique details. Will you enjoy the work more, or less, if you take away from it a different message or story than that which the artist intended? Will you find a meaning even if there isn’t one? 
I work mostly alone using a combination of gut feeling,  musical theory and mathematics. I like to allow irrelevant details to make decisions in my writing process. I revel in the idea that this way, there are less decisions to make and that you may discover more than if you overthink things.
