BlocSwitch - Coda Reached!

This orchestral work is inspired by the Western plains on which wild horses roam freely. The rhythmic piece packed with percussion hits, melodic violin motifs and whistling solo trumpets is written for a large symphonic orchestra.

Pride of the Prairies

As a cinematic music composer, my goal with this video was to create a little film score for an imaginary turtle film in which baby sea turtles hatch on the beach and try to make their way to the seashore to start their journey in the deep blue sea waters.

The goal is not to break down the cinematic music-making process behind it but to offer the listener/viewer a possible approach to writing these kinds of film scores that could have been taken directly from a sea turtle documentary.

Why this video?

I wanted to take that step further and build upon the experience of playing an instrument that plays a key role in both classical and film music. Using the little knowledge I had about orchestral music and film score writing, I was looking for a means to create epic film music and join the same journey many other people out there also embark on.

So, how to start scoring film music? I set out on a creative expedition destined to offer listeners and viewers a film-like experience as if I had a film music orchestra at my fingertips.

Re-version of a very old Music2000 song I made many years ago, reproduced from scratch with extras. Features Vaults Acid Synth from Crowhill. Also used; Crowhill Demon drop, R&D strings, rack FX and Imperial Electric. Plus synths and FX from logic X, Native Instruments and Reason.

Hello, I'm Denis.
I compose  music for Theatre, Movies, Advertising.

Houzel, whose real name is Antoine Houzelstein, is an amateur composer living in France. 
He began music at the age of 6, playing the clarinet at a small music school in his home town. At the age of 10, he entered the conservatory of Maisons-Alfort, his home town, where he learned music in greater depth, including the basics of solfeggio. Then he joined various orchestras and ensembles at the conservatory. 
At the age of 13, he wrote his first pieces for clarinet and piano, including "Sakura", which you can find on his SoundCloud page. 
At 18, he began distributing his music. 
His latest EP, Atmosphère, released in December 2023, is a purely orchestral affair, and he will continue to build on this success.
