
Finally - after months of a lot of heartache, countless struggles and challenges, turmoil that this work has brought me - it is finally here, Idyllic and yet to come for 7 woodwind ensamble, that was written in my Erasmus year in its drafts and even performed as one movement work in my composition concert in Tallinn, but ultimately found its full performance and completed as a two movement cycle recorded on my return in Riga. 

This track is filled with deep sorrow, pure light, emotions, turmoil and everything that happened to me through its writing process - it is made up of two movement that contradict yet compliment each other beautifully in sense that they each tell their own story. 1st movement is slow, dragged out, stretched and complex filled with harmonic structures that I have not used up before and with new thought process that started in its writing - while 2nd movement is fast paced, quick, ever so changing and unpredictable in nature yet keeping that lingering longing sound from the movement before. This song is all about acceptance, warmth, light and constant change and in these past months I have endured a lot of it, so I am grateful that this piece is finally with me and I can listen to it in full scope despite all the background issues that surrounded it.

Alex Abramovitz is a Kansas City band leader who specializes in the Kansas City Jazz sound created and made famous by the likes of Count Basie, Jay McShann, Mary Lou Williams, among others.

Alex established his first band in 2008, as a duo.  In 2013, Alex began a residency at The Phoenix, a Kansas City jazz club, hosting the Saturday Jazz Brunch for nine years.  The band then continued their partnership with The Phoenix through 2024, creating "The Swing Shift".  In January 2025, Alex and his bandmates move "The Swing Shift" over to Black Dolphin, Kansas City's premiere establishment for jazz and entertainment.  Alex Abramovitz and His Swing'n Kansas City Jazz Band has also served as the house band for The Kansas City Monarchs Baseball Club of the American Association, and has partnered with Worlds of Fun, Big Slick, and the Harry S. Truman Library Institute.

Throughout the years, Alex and his band have entertained many celebrities, movies stars, comedians, athletes, and musicians such as Paul Rudd, Jason Sudekis, The Impractical Jokers, Kevin Pollak, Will Forte, Patrick Mahomes, Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce, Johnny Knoxville, Adam Ray, George Wendt, Weird Al Yankovich, Rob Riggle, Eric Stonestreet, and metal drummer Richard Christy, who has sat in with the band on several occasions.

The band has recorded three albums, "Scamps Alley" (2013), "Ripe off the Vine!" (2014), and "Fountain City Jive" (2019).  The band plans on recording another album to be released early in 2026 which will feature live performances of the band's original material.

I (34m) have been searching for a lady to call my own for 34 years now and I gotta say it is rough being a fat, ugly, unemployed, uneducated, loser in the modern dating game.

I hear from older guys all the time talking about how easy it used to be for the unproductive too get female affection in the past and to be honest I envy them a lot, it seems like the standards are ultra high for women these days cause I do my best to shower once a week, I buy new clothes occasionally at like goodwill or something, and I brush my teeth sometimes, and on top of it all I do 5-10 pushups at night three times a week.

Apparently for women this is just simply not enough and I don’t understand why; I thought my lack of success may have come from being not approaching females enough so I started looking in the following locations (bars, game nights, Kroger, gym ((will never go there again)), anime conventions, gynecologist clinic, etc). It seems to me that maybe being a fat, unemployed, uneducated, loser like myself may just be being held back by the unreasonably high standards of modern women and is of no way my fault.

I do plan on moving out of moms basement soon and maybe that’ll help me but I’m moving in with my dad so I’ll have to see I can bring women over though when I asked my mom that question she laughed at me.
