The original Transformers: The Movie 1986 animated feature film has been one of my all-time favorites.  The soundtrack is *amazing* and has been one of my goals for remixing.  I still have to remix Dare, the other epic from the film... it's on the list... it's a long list.

In episode six, the lads dive deep into the unforgettable soundtrack of Bloodsport (1988), the cult martial arts classic that catapulted Jean-Claude Van Damme to stardom.

Bloodsport’s soundtrack captures both the raw energy and emotional journey of Frank Dux as he fights for honor (and questionable world records) in the notorious ‘Kumite’, deep in the depths of Kowloon’s infamous walled city.

Hear the boys grapple with the fruits of Paul Hertzog’s musical labour; the pounding synths, the driving percussion, and evocative Eastern-inspired melodies. Not only that, but you will hear Dave drop some timeless fashion tips, and Tom gets unreasonably excited about a synthesizer. 

This episode isn’t only a juddering kick to the Dim Maks, it’s also a celebration of the music and machismo that made Bloodsport an enduring action classic.

The Transformers: The Movie (1986) OST is crammed full of epic rock ballads, synth-fueled anthems, and the undeniable power of ‘Friend of the Show’ Stan Bush - to turn even the clunkiest robot battle into an emotional rollercoaster. 

There’s that theme, the genius of "The Touch," the unhinged energy of "Dare," and questions like, didn’t Unicron (although he is just a giant floating metallic sphincter) deserve a better theme song? Do you remember the Fizzy Pop man? And why does Weird Al Yankovic randomly show up in a movie about intergalactic war? 

So, pop open a bottle of Tizer, and join Dave and Tom as they crank up the volume, and roll out!

S2 E4 • The Transformers: The Movie (1986)

Artist, music producer, wave maker.  Setting intentions to leave the world a little better than how I found it.  Family is everything.

I have been a fan of EDM / Electronica since middle school (thank you Mortal Kombat soundtrack). I started my music production journey a few years ago.  I’ve been juggling a full-time career while exploring this new world in hopes to make it a more regular part of my life and future.  

I have a ton of ideas for future remixes, especially iconic songs from films that have special meaning to me.  I have several musical influences- Kygo, Odesza, Ashley Wallbridge, Avicii, Galantis, Steve Aoki, Gareth Emery, Tiësto, Martin Garrix, and David Guetta have been instrumental during this learning phase.  

I have a habit of retroactively updating my older tracks with my newer tricks, so they will evolve / improve over time.
