LOONA is the third album by Toy Piano, the third album to be released in less than six months' time by the project, the project's first ambient/new age release, and the first double-album-length release from the project. Influenced heavily by Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno, Steve Roach, State Azure, Cluster, Harmonia, Robert Rich, and others, Toy Piano delivers five lengthy tracks equally at home with close listening on headphones or earbuds, or as background music for any activity whatsoever (use your imagination). The instrumentation is 100% electronic (the mellotron, piano, and other acoustic instruments heard on past Toy Piano releases are nowhere to be found on this album), but 100% triggered by human hands.

Just like John Lennon wrote and recorded his first major solo single in a day's time 53 years ago and released it through Apple Records within a week, Toy Piano's CJ Marsicano did a similar approach when he created "Cotton" on August 9, 2023. Only, thanks to modern technological advances, no one has to wait a week for the song to leave the pressing plants. (And even then, the song would have either had to have been split into two parts for a 7" single, or waited for a second track to be added as the B-side of a 10" or 12" single!).

"I rolled out of bed early, grabbed my iPad and a MIDI controller, and had the track done within a half hour," says Mr. Marsicano, who seems to be increasingly turning into the Robert Pollard of electronic music with the prolific pace he's set for himself since the first Toy Piano album was released in April of 2023.

The opening salvo in a freshly planned indefinite series of impromptu recordings, Toy Piano drops the single "Cotton" almost instantly, mere days after their third album and first ambient affair, LOONA, was presented to all digital outlets and scheduled for a 9/1/2023 release. A rough mixed version was uploaded to Toy Piano's SoundCloud page within minutes of the recording's completion (the original rough mixed and unmastered version is added here as a Bandcamp bonus track). With minimal electronic instrumentation and a spontaneous dreamy vibe, "Cotton" continues in Toy Piano's ambient/new age direction while providing a little extra ear candy for those anticipating the formal release of LOONA.

This is yet another instant single from the prolific electronic project Toy Piano, and it is not only a companion piece to the COTTON single and the forthcoming LOONA album, but it is also the start of what will be a future ambient full-length from the project.

“This one is personal. On September 1, 2023, it will have been two years since my friend and birthday twin, Shannon Claire Spruill, better known to the world by her stage name Daffney Unger, died of suicide. I tend to think of her a lot, and one of those times was when I was writing material for what led to LOONA and composed this piece. Another time was during the sessions for TOY PIANO I when I wrote Heart Sign For Shannon. When the rest of LOONA morphed into the shape became, I knew two things: One is that this composition would not fit anywhere on the album, either in mood or in album length. The other thing was that I wanted to put it out anyway at the same time. I decided release this on the day before the release of LOONA so that each release would have its day in the sun. This probably won’t be the last time Shannon inspires my music. Shannon, thank you for being my friend when you were here on Earth with us and for being my muse from beyond the next dimension now. GodsVonk @ ZonnePracht Saterday Dinner

@State Azure posted a generative ambient sketch on his YouTube page about a year ago, and he had also put the Bitwig projectfile linked up with it.

Since I recently upgraded to Bitwig Producer 5 it allows you to import files that use the Grid in Demo Mode, and you can then modify them.
I recorded my (live) version with a trick, by using an Audio Receiver track to receive my output, and then grabbed the wav-file from my My Documents folder.
I later added some sounds, samples, and effects to create this version.

The last recording I made -except for some ambient remixes- before my decision to quit making and releasing music a few months later.

This track was the positive response to everything that the song "I Am The Omega" was representing to me. I recorded that track in 2022 under the name of my technical and progressive thrash metal project CAUTIVA, being a dark metaphor about the loss of loved ones and the pain that follows... Three years later, "…I'll See You In The Stars" became a positive answer to all of that: Even though loved ones may be gone and the pain can be overwhelming, in the end -after billions of years- we all return to the stars, and that is, in a way, a form of reunion. This is the meaning of this piece for me.

Hello there, I'm Leroy Evers, a composer from the Netherlands and Spain. I’ve been fascinated by sound for as long as I can remember — and from the age of 14, I spent much of my free time in studios, learning the craft of sound design and audio engineering from the inside out.

I grew up listening to artists like Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Alan Parsons and Pink Floyd — a profound inspiration that still echoes through my music today.

Since 2004, music production has been at the heart of my creative work. Over the years, I have worked as a sound designer and music producer on numerous projects for radio, television, and theatre.

These days, I’m focusing more on personal, cinematic music. I create electronic pieces with an ambient, sometimes experimental edge — always driven by emotion, space, and story.

My music carries a sense of wonder, stillness, and curiosity about the world — feelings rooted in my childhood, now intertwined with the textures of today. It’s music to drift with, to reflect with, to simply chill to, while the story quietly unfolds into sound.

Music and art can very much touch us with the essence of symmetry, balance, fluidity, cohesion whilst their counterparts: dis-juncture, chaos, inertia, provide the tension that makes for the through-line: Story.

No wonder then that Xavier Morel, a veteran and simply awesome producer and Dj speaks in such terms. In these days where the distinction between artist and playlist are becoming less distinct, the essence of audio art is becoming distilled in its import.

Starting his DJ career off in 1988 Xavier has Dj'd throughout Europe, Australia and Asia, most particularly Japan where he was based for years.

On the production front has worked and collaborated with Juno Reactor, Prime Suspect, Section X, Eat Static, Fuel, Carcharodon Megalodon, VX & H229 (on Machine Label),Marcus Maichel,Shane Berry,Oz Morsley ,and project comming with greg hunter,Marcus Maichel. Presently very active on the new project with pat lazer (aka section x)  REPLICANTS 2049.
