About this mix:
When I originally planned this mix, I was feeling a lot of anger. A lot of anger. Some stuff happened in my personal life that knocked me right off kilter. It was supposed to be centred around themes of duality, deception and discard.

But as I started to put the songs together and slowly started healing, I couldn't help but feel a stronger pull towards love/peace/forgiveness instead of anger/resentment. And the songs significantly started to change. I sampled voice notes I recorded speaking to myself when I couldn't sleep at night and felt alone. So this mix is one of my most vulnerable, raw ones yet. 

It was originally supposed to be a project on Jekyll and Hyde. In some ways it is. The last few weeks did feel like two extremes: exciting, beautiful moments with friends to an ache in my chest walking home from work, trying to hold it together so I could collapse at home where no one can see me. This mix is purposefully jarring and turbulent, but has very beautiful moments that I wept recording, wept editing and wept listening back to. I am an incredible sensitive, passionate soul and for once I'm actually really proud of that. My soul has so much depth and I am an honest, open person. I've always been someone who shares art with others; maybe you are also going through something similar to me. We can share this moment together.

Sometimes it's better to be honest, rather than strong. Sometimes hiding the weight of how you really feel is truly exhausting. That's how I've felt this week. I just got tired of pretending I was okay. So I channelled everything into my art and let it process my heart for me.

I'm not doing this for anyone else. I just needed to feel how I really feel.

I hope you enjoy this one. It's definitely not my usual style. This is probably the saddest mix I've ever made. It's full of regret, loss, grief and hurt. But also hope, wit and moving forward.
