This week on #BackwardsThroughRock, I’m diving deep into the Velvet Underground’s shadowy art-rock realm with “Step Into..” — a stark, neon-lit dirge for the disillusioned.

🎸 Verse 1 opens on a lone guitar pluck, haunted by an organ drone that underpins lines about stolen crowns and silent screams. A muted bass pulse and raw guitar scratches cut through the gloom, punctuated by a tense floor-tom fill.
🔥 In the Chorus, we turn whispers into roars, shattering truths into ash and etching our names in the rusted remains of old dreams.
🎹 Verse 2 drifts through a neon haze, each note a dagger, before a wrenching requiem for what went wrong.
🔗 The Bridge delivers a cold reality check — no redemption, only broken lines and borrowed sorrows — and the Outro fades on tape-hiss, dissolving into fractured minds and velvet shadows.

“Step Into..” is a minimalist masterpiece: talk-sung vocals, single-coil fuzz, organ drones, and neon outlines keeping the spirit of Lou Reed alive while pushing my own Triple KANTIBUS Pass vibes.

KANTIBUS is an American producer/songwriter who has been creating songs since 1990.

It is a portmanteau of his first initial and last name. 

KANTIBUS started creating what would eventually become known as Drill or Trap Music, demonstrating expertise in both genres. 

As such, he is a pioneer of the "violent real life criminal" styles that exist still in the underground today.
