The cells in a person's body completely change on a 7-10 year cycle, dying and reproducing themselves. seven (2024) reflects on this idea as it relates to grief and healing. After 7 years pass someone who had a large impact on someone else's life is no longer a part of them, positive or negative. Seven years have past, all my cells are different now.

Rosalie Safford is a composer of electronic and acoustic works from Washington, D.C. They are currently a student at Ohio University for Music Composition studying with Dr. Robert McClure.  They went to high school at St. John’s College High School where they were President of the Composition Workshop and received the Leonard Bernstein Award for Musicianship. In June of 2023, Rosalie attended the Divergent Studio at the Longy School of Music of Bard College working with the Divergent Trio. Their works have been performed at festivals such as the SCI 2023 Region V Conference, and SEAMUS 2024. Rosalies work aims to look inward at emotions that are otherwise kept hidden, discussing mental health, fear of the world changing as you get older, and more. They spend their free time hanging out with their cat, Anita.
