Transmissions 500 with Steve Lawler

This is a mix I managed to extract from one remaining copy of a cd I still had. This CD was in pretty rough shape, and the process to get it onto this soundcloud page was more taxing then I realized it was going to be. In the end, my will to preserve the mix proved greater than the obstacles to doing so, so here it is.  The first track on the mix is plagued by some staticy-ticks that lose intensity as we get into the first breakdown of that first track. If you can bear with that, its ok from there.

If you asked me then who "influenced this mix," I would have dropped some pretty predictable Global Underground names. But, the truth is, my biggest influences were those closest to me. Damian, Rojas, Dao, Omar, Peter, the Whites , Josh, Bob, Arthur, Hypatia, Bryon, Chris...all these local djs who watered our local Reading soil over the last 20 plus years. I have enjoyed the journey immensely...here is a mix from the beginning.

This was put together sometime in 2000 on two tech 12's and a Pioneer DJM500.

Certified Jackin was formed in 2011 with the intention of taking the big-bass “jackin house” sound that was taking over the North of England and the Midlands and deliver to a wider audience. This was achieved via a simple YouTube channel which quickly, and slightly unexpectedly, became a massive success, harnessing close to 100,000 subscribers and over 25 million views. The sound we delivered was greatly received throughout the United Kingdom and across the globe.
 
Over the following years, we helped promote and intensify the early careers of well-respected artists who featured heavily under the CJ name. Artists such as Hannah Wants, Chris Lorenzo and of course, our head honcho: ILL PHIL, amongst many others. We host events across the United Kingdom, mainly at the prestigious Lightbox in London where we have hosted some of the best in the business: Endor, The Wideboys, Tom Bull, Rich Pinder, Skapes, Martin Ikin and others. We have taken Certified to Dublin with Tom Zanetti, Tom Garnett and Nick Hannam. We’ve also graced Tank in Sheffield, Insomnifest in Leeds, Manchester, Rotherham, Maidstone and Dover.
 
ILL PHIL’s world-famous Mixtapes have amassed millions of plays on SoundCloud and our debut album ‘Certified Jackin: Underground House Music’ cracked the Top 10 of the iTunes dance chart in mid-2014.

CT has been DJing for over 20 years. He held a residency at Glasgow's Underground Club 'Soundhaus' and appeared as a guest DJ at several club nights and pre-club bars across the City of Glasgow and the surrounding area in the late '90s and 2000s. 

Music has always been an enormous focus of interest from a young age. CT is a musician who also plays the keys and guitar, composes music and, as a youth, was part of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) Choir.

It’s all about the music. New York stalwart and beloved DJ, Boris, lives by that statement each and every day. He is a man wearing many hats; one as a touring DJ, another as a producer dynamo and lastly as a label boss of Transmit Recordings. A career forged over decades of long nights in the Big Apple’s most revered rooms. From the infamous Roxy to Crobar to the once dominating Pacha NY on 46th Street, Boris maintained a following so devout, so loyal they were truly ‘Believers’. Pioneering a music movement in a city filled with those who have so little time to pay attention, Boris has been a production powerhouse when not performing for the masses. He’s been tapped by industry leaders such as Carl Cox for his label Intec, Dubfire for his label Sci-Tec, Paco Osuna and his Mindshake records, amongst countless others.

His ability behind the decks and in the studio has not only made him a New York favorite, but his music has taken him places all around the world ranging from the shores of Playa Del Carmen to the magical White Isle known as Ibiza. Known to many as the ‘DJ’s DJ’, Boris has had the career most DJs can only wish to have. The trends, they may change but the New York native has stayed true to his drum driven sounds and created his own niche in the wide and vast world of electronic music. Taking bits and pieces from every part of the globe he visits, Boris always maintains a piece of home in his music. 

Even though his career spans nearly three decades, the journeyman DJ has yet to falter. We currently find him playing leading to destinations across the globe and his music is in high demand with forthcoming releases many sought after labels, Boris will is constantly on the tips of the younger generation’s tongue.
