Les compositions de Carla Bley sont inscrites dans l’histoire de l’émancipation des pratiques jazz et improvisées initiées à partir du début des années 1960 où nombre d’univers discursifs singuliers naquirent dans l’exercice intemporel d’une pensée musicale en mouvement. 
Dans cet essai, une envie, un besoin, une espérance à retrouver des compositions épurées, hors temps, hors format, mais qui permettent l’extension, l’augmentation du jeu pour le jeu, pour l’amour du jeu, pour un cri culturel qui se veut liberté. Très peu de contrainte et beaucoup de liberté tel est le credo de l’improvisation car oui l’improvisation est à la base de toute création musicale.
Mais pourquoi enrichir discursivement ce qui fut tant de liberté ? Le jazz d’aujourd’hui et les musiques improvisées répondent-ils aux défis initiaux de 1964 ? Ré-écriture poétiquement « augmentée » et improvisations libres mâtinées de musiques contemporaines s’unissent  ici dans un élan joyeusement introspectif … un nouvel album à venir.

Carla Bley's compositions are inscribed in the history of the emancipation of jazz and improvised practices initiated in the early 1960s, when many singular discursive universes were born in the timeless exercise of musical thought in motion. 
In this essay, a desire, a need, a hope to rediscover simply compositions, out of time, out of format, but that allow the extension, the increase of play for play's sake, for the love of play, for a cultural cry that wants to be free. Very little constraint and a lot of freedom is the credo of improvisation, because improvisation is the basis of all musical creation.
But why enrich discursively what was once so much freedom? Do today's jazz and improvised music meet the initial challenges of 1964? Poetically “augmented” rewriting and free improvisations mixed with contemporary music unite here in a joyfully introspective momentum... a new album to come.

Ainsi m’est venu cet élan d’oeuvrer différemment sur le répertoire de Carla Bley (très souvent sublimé par Paul Bley mais pas que) et composer, arranger, orchestrer le piano solo comme un orchestre en révélant et développant les richesses cachées, insoupçonnées, dynamiser les mobilités rythmiques tout autant que les timbres de ces thèmes. Tel est le projet de ces 7 vidéos d’environ 30’ chacune sur un thème en particulier progressivement mises en ligne et partagées sur ma chaîne YouTube. De mes re-compositions/arrangements originaux naitra, en 2024, un album en piano solo regroupant les titres présentés dans ces vidéos ainsi que d’autres de Sun Ra, Ornette Coleman, Pharoa Sanders, Albert Ayler, Eric Dolphy, … à suivre et à poursuivre donc.

This is how I came up with the impulse to work differently on Carla Bley's repertoire (very often sublimated by Paul Bley, but not only) and to compose, arrange and orchestrate the solo piano like an orchestra, revealing and developing the hidden, unsuspected richness, energizing the rhythmic mobilities as much as the timbres of these themes. This is the aim of these 7 videos, each lasting around 30', on a particular theme, which are gradually being put online and shared on my YouTube channel. In 2024, my original re-compositions/arrangements will give rise to a solo piano album featuring the titles presented in these videos, as well as others by Sun Ra, Ornette Coleman, Pharoa Sanders, Albert Ayler, Eric Dolphy... to be followed and continued.
