Om deze prestigieuze titel te mogen claimen moeten de mannen deze vijf mysteriebieren proeven en van elk biertje de bierstijl en de naam van de brouwer correct benoemen. Daarnaast moeten de vijf bieren in volgorde van alcoholpercentage worden gezet om punten  te verdienen. Wordt het Maarten of Thom die als Koning Biervriend de troon mag bestijgen?

Welkom bij aflevering 5 van seizoen 6 van De Biervrienden Podcast! In deze eerste aflevering van het nieuwe podcastjaar zijn Maarten en Thom op bezoek bij biervriend Michael in Culemborg. De aflevering staat geheel in het teken van ons 5-jarig jubileum podcast maken, goede voornemens en goede vriendenbieren. 
Voordat de aflevering echt van start kon gaan, diende er een kleine rectificatie plaats te vinden. Belofte maakt schuld, en omdat Thom helaas niet bij de oud en nieuw festiviteiten kon zijn nam hij voor de mannen een flesje Holger mee: het bier waar afgelopen Kerstspecial over gezegd werd dat hier prima oud en nieuw mee gevierd kon worden. Een nostalgische ervaring volgde, boordevol verhalen over vroeger!
Na het jaar geopend te hebben met een Holger volgde het Biervriendenbier van Thom: de Herberg Tripel van Brouwerij Den Herberg. In deze zoektocht naar een klassieke tripel werd het volledige geur- en smakenspectrum afgelopen; een ware beleving van smaken!
Michael bracht zijn luisteraarsbier mee: een biertje die hij afgelopen zomer op de lijst met luisteraarsbieren zette. Zo genoten de mannen van de Red Velvet & Cake Imperial Stout van Brouwerij de Molen. Een prachtige Imperial Stout die de stemming positief beïnvloedde!

Denise Renee, professionally known as STOUT, is a singer and songwriter from New Haven, Connecticut. She began her musical journey at the age of three in her great-grandmother's basement church, playing drums and singing in the children's choir. Her passion for music led her from these humble beginnings to international stages, performing as a backing vocalist for Alicia Keys from 2003 to 2006 and sharing the spotlight with icons like Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Missy Elliott, and Lenny Kravitz.

In 2015, she released the gospel album Awakened under the name Denise Renee. By 2018, she had joined Cory Henry and The Funk Apostles, further expanding her artistry. Known for her dynamic vocal range and captivating performances, STOUT blends gospel, funk, and rock influences, earning her a respected place in the music industry.

“Grateful” is produced by Supa Dave West who’s production credits include his extensive catalogue with De La Soul plus work with fellow Hip Hop luminaries Talib Kweli, E-40, Slum Village, Planet Asia, Jim Jones, Phife Dawg, J Dilla, and members of the Wu-Tang Clan.
