On the eve of this year’s exciting Sithmas event, let’s travel back to the winter of 2023, for a conversation about how this multi-club event began:

How does a Star Wars meetup become a holiday tradition?

Every year, Pennsylvanian collector Mike De Stefano hosts Sithmas, a weekend event that celebrates Star Wars and the holidays.

The weekend kicks off with a Friday night meal, followed by  Saturday’s main event.  The day is packed with festivities - from a White Bantha gift exchange to a special dinner together, to tours of Mike’s three incredible Star Wars collection rooms.

This year, approximately 80 Star Wars collectors from EIGHT regional clubs - Seattle, Ontario, New York, the Northeast, Pennsylvania, D.C/Virginia, Ohio and Indiana - will travel to the Lancaster area to celebrate Sithmas with Mike at his home.  

Join host David Quinn for a conversation with Mike, as Mike discusses how Sithmas began, how it evolved, and why it has become a must-attend event on the Star Wars collector calendar each December!

GabberGirl began her DJ career in the mid-90's, out of Minneapolis.  She has always focused on gabber & hardcore, but enjoys mixing it up with an occasional track of a different genre, especially hip hop, dubstep, drum & bass, & hard techno.

She stumbled upon her first rave in 1994, put on by DJ ESP Woody McBride (Communique Records), DJ Jedidiah, & JethroX (Kurt Eckes) of Drop Bass Network.  The promoters showed her the magic happening in the DJ booth, and she declared at that moment she would be a DJ. 

GabberGirl played raves, clubs, radio shows, festivals, and even malls all around the Midwest and Canada from 1995 to 1997.  She also promoted parties as Warrior Princess Productions, including Heavy Mental in March 1997, with DJ Tron & Doormouse headlining.

She was honored to play in the main tent at the legendary Even Furthur '96 festival, a few hours before Daft Punk's US debut.

In 1997, after playing a Trust campout in the Sierra Nevada mountains, she decided to "bring the hardcore" to northern California & moved to the San Francisco bay area.

Late 1997, after finding her hardcore crew, GabberGirl & her partner DJ Squircle (previously known as Dr. Nog) began and ran Technostate internet radio station out of an artist loft warehouse in San Fran, and continued throwing parties as Warrior Productions. 

Summer of 1998, GabberGirl & the Technostate hardcore DJs hit the road for a 2-month coast to coast cross country tour.

In 1999, XLR8R Magazine published an article about GabberGirl, introducing her as the hardcore record reviewer of their new hardcore column, which only lasted a few months.

Technostate resident DJ Forest Green was featured on the film Groove, & Technostate hosted the movie premier in 2000, with GabberGirl DJing and broadcasting in the theater lobby.

In her early years, GabberGirl played parties with many other notable DJs, including Henry Vengeance, Bobby Tense (FUHD), Dan Efex, Ron D Core, Demigod, Bombardier, Fishead, DJ Tron, R-Type, The Tyrant (FUHD), William Rabies, and Doormouse.  In recent years, she has played events alongside The Demix, Flynx, Brenda, & Neil Landstrumm.

In 2002, GabberGirl took a long break to raise her son.  In 2018, after moving back to the Midwest as an empty nester, GabberGirl began DJing again. 

Lately, GabberGirl has been contributing monthly to New York City based internet radio station, Respect The Dance Floor Rave Radio. She has also been featured several times on Doomcore Records Pod Cast out of Hamburg, Germany.
