Professor Karim Murji 
Karim Murji is a Professor in the School of Human and Social Sciences at the University of West London. Prof Murji’s research is concerned with culture, ethnicity and racism, and how these are applied to fields such as race equality, policing, migration and public engagement. With colleagues at Oxford and Open Universities, he is an investigator on a large ESRC funded study, Open City which explores issues of race, migration, mobility and living with diversity, focussed on one city: London.

His books include Racism, Policy and Politics (Policy Press, 2017). With Sarah Neal and John Solomos, he is co-editor of An Introduction to Sociology (Sage, 2021). He has co-edited recent special issues for the journals Social Identities and the International Journal of Sociology and Social Policy. With John Solomos, he is co-editor of Racialization: Studies in Theory and Practice (Oxford University Press, 2005) and Theories of Race and Ethnicity: Contemporary Debates and Perspectives (Cambridge University Press, 2015).


Dr Nick Beech
Nick Beech is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Policy and Society at the University of Birmingham. His main research interests include the professional, technical, and cultural histories of modern architecture; histories of the New Left and cultural studies; and the history of London.
Dr Beech is currently leading the Stuart Hall Archive Project: Conjunctures, Dialogues, Readings, with Prof Pat Noxolo and Dr Rebecca Roach. This three-year research project uses the papers of Prof Stuart Hall to recover unpublished material to provide insights on Hall's cultural and political formation and development, and to create forums and platforms for a wide engagement with Hall's work and legacies.


Dr Aasiya Lodhi
Aasiya Lodhi is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Westminster School of Media and Communication teaching media theory and practice with a focus on journalism, audio, and on issues related to colonialism, race and feminism. Prior to joining the University of Westminster Dr Lodhi was a BBC producer specialising in arts, documentary and foreign affairs programming at Radio 3, Radio 4 and the World Service.

Dr Lodhi’s research focuses on cultural and political histories of twentieth-century Britain, especially as revealed through post-war media, writers and the mediation of imperial legacy. She has written on the history of radiogenic forms, particularly features, and with Amanda Wrigley co-edited Radio Modernisms: Features, Cultures and the BBC (Routledge, 2020). Dr Lodhi’s research fosters public engagement on questions of race, gender and class through the exploration of media archives. She is a Trustee of the Charles Parker Archive and the Stuart Hall Foundation, and co-editor of the journal RadioDoc Review.


Professor Nasar Meer
Nasar Meer is Professor of Social & Political Sciences at the University of Glasgow and Chair of the Academic Committee of The Stuart Hall Foundation. He is author of The Cruel Optimism of Racial Justice (Polity, 2022), co-editor of The Resilience of Multiculturalism: Ideas, Politics, Practice (Edinburgh University Press, 2023), and co-editor of Identities: Global Studies in Culture and Power.
