Z Frequency is a genre-blending band that defies musical boundaries, mixing rock, reggae, ska, and alternative into a one-of-a-kind sound. Our story begins with Zak Davis, inspired by Oingo Boingo and Danny Elfman’s iconic vocals. Since teaming up with Matt Allen in the ’90s, we’ve been crafting music through projects like Catfische and Hoo Ray Who?, leaving our mark on the Utah music scene.  

Z Frequency emerged from Zak’s vision, evolving into a band backed by talented musicians and fresh collaborations on every track. L-Town Magazine calls us "a kaleidoscope of sound that transcends boundaries"—a description we wear proudly.  

Outside the band, Zak and Matt host the ZHZ Podcast, where they spotlight DIY artists and share insights into the music-making journey.

Born and bred in New York City, DJ and Producer Mitchell Frederick, has an untouchable skill for music. With a rich history in music theory and composition, his journey through sound began in childhood. Multi-talented with instruments like the violin, trombone, drums, piano, and bass guitar, the producer quickly learned that his natural ear could be used in a multitude of ways. But by the time he turned 13, he knew that becoming a producer and DJ was the perfect path.

Mitchell spent an entire year practicing on his first DJ setup, a pair of Technic 1200's and a Vestax mixer, and immediately launched himself onto the New York scene. With an unmatched persistence and love for the art, the musician has performed at some of the most exclusive and premiere venues across the country. Mitchell has also graced the crowds of Mexico, Panama, Colombia, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, and Israel with his eclectic house beats. With two decades of professional music experience under his belt, nothing can stop Mitchell Frederick from a bright destiny. From the yuks a grunge rock band formed in mille-lacs county, To the drug driven melodies of Mescalyne67. One thing that remain's the same is the writer. Some of the tracks feature a Isle local drummer Charles Maag. Some feature Dahlberg on drums,  some song's being completely preformed by Bradley Edwin.
