Hybral's new EP "Affirmative Action" is a dystopian industrial techno masterpiece that shows evil in its most beautiful and intense form. Dark, cinematic and frightening sounds lead you on a ghost hunt of rhythmic darkness, drawn full of turning points and unforeseen, surreal events. The EP is the image of a total horror, a bizarre journey through eternal darkness, as if in a black hole that sucks in all light and the whereabouts of matter remain uncertain. You experience a reality in which the contents of your stomach are overturned by your internal organs and all existing laws are reversed. 

The mood of the track, "The Queer Turn", is reminiscent of cold and rough clefts in the mountains, towering rock formations in the shape of shark's teeth towards the gloomy sky. Chainsaw-like cries of rebellion and determined marching of queer communities echo in the valleys and shape the landscape for generations to come.

It unleashes grinding walls of feedback against a relentless broken beat and its foreboding atmosphere heightened by a menacing low growl of distorted bass permeates the unease. It's a disquieting overture that sets the stage for the tumultuous journey ahead.

LIIneas is a side project of techno artist Eve Schwarz. Inspired by a weekend at the Berlin music festival “Atonal” it emerged around 2018 focusing on soundscapes apart from the typical club tunes. Led by pure emotion and the intention to experiment it is based on industrial textures, drones, noises and cinematic ambients. Hybral is a Berlin based trans/ queer DJ and producer focusing on the darker and more atmospheric side of electronic music, ranging from contemplative cinematic ambient and more introspective and slower ritualistic leaning techno to rough, fast, industrial and uncompromising hard techno - capturing feelings of anger, anxiety, chaos, fear, tension, desire and pain.

Through layering dark, driving, distorted and seductive beats with trembling textures, dystopian soundscapes and hauntingly eerie atmospheres, Hybral not only increases the intensity and energy throughout their sets towards the end, but also shows a different side of hard and industrial techno that is more inward looking, evolving and mind-bending while still maintaining a hard hitting sound experience.

By using awry harmonies and chaotic noise, Hybral intends to express how queerness disrupts and reorders norms by not following accepted paths and normative sound aesthetics. Their tracks shake listeners into a state of hypnosis, disorientation and ask to question ourselves and our position in society. Alarming timbres, modulated ominous atmospheres and distorted kick drums, noisy and in reverberation immersed percussions evoke the power and necessity of movement and destruction as a source of change.

Hybral is founder of the queer label and event series SUBVERTED that is focusing on drone and noise infused dark industrial techno - from ambient, atmospheric and hypnotic techno to raw and relentless hard techno. SUBVERTED is intending to bring new and previously unheard perspectives to the dance floor and open the industry's gates for a new generation of artists that are pushing their own unique and fresh take on dark industrial techno.

They are resident at both SUBVERTED and DURCH and releasing on labels like The Brvtalist, Vast Perception, Gegen and Pure Hate 000. Hybral especially gained their reputation through releases on Paula Temple’s label «Noise Manifesto» and SNTS’ sub-label «Sacred Court».

Active in the electronic scene since 2014, I started my journey in an Italian duo, and then in 2023 I started my solo project under the name of SKUMRING, founder of the Label Brutal Forms.
My sound is a journey through underground vibrations, intertwining hypnotic techno, experimental ambient and deep groove. My sound research is based on the use of analog synthesizers and modular systems, tools that allow me to build unique and immersive soundscapes.

Over the years I had the opportunity to bring my music to some of the most iconic clubs and radios of the European electronic scene, including: Tresor (Berlin)  HÖR (Berlin) Urban Spree (Berlin) HOM (Berlin) Operator Radio (Rotterdam) Kiosk Radio (Brussels) … and other clubs and radios around Europe.I have released productions on different labels in Various Artists collections, and my goal is to always push the boundaries of sound, exploring new sonic dimensions.
