Since beginning his journey in early 2024 with a love for hard techno, he has gravitated toward more stripped-back, groove-driven styles, drawing inspiration from both intensity and subtlety. The rural backdrop informs his sound’s sense of space and contrast, and while he hasn’t played live yet, CRITXX continues to build momentum through mixes and a focused dedication to the craft—positioning himself as a thoughtful and promising voice in the next wave of Australian techno.

DJ and producer from Como, Italy, Luca Accardi explores the many shades of techno through a sound that evolves between hypnotic tension, groove, and atmosphere. Driven by a deep curiosity for texture and movement, his productions move fluidly between dub influences, rhythmic intensity, and a growing fascination for minimalism, where every element has space and purpose.
His recent release on Planet Rhythm highlights his groovy dub side, combining depth and pulse for immersive dancefloors. Constantly refining his identity, he seeks to craft timeless works that connect emotion, space, and rhythm.

“This mix explores the balance between hypnotic minimalism and dynamic energy, enriched by deep dub textures and fluid transitions. I used Traktor with four channels running, Ableton for external drum patterns and effects, and an Xone:92 mixer with Xone K2 and Akai APC Mini as controllers.”

As the founder of Newrhythmic Records, Joton has championed the work of countless national and international artists for over 20 years. His passion and vision have helped establish the label as a prominent force in the techno world. Joton’s global reach as a DJ has taken him to over 30 countries, where he has performed on some of the world’s most iconic stages.

His tracks have garnered support from legendary figures such as Ben Klock, DVS1, Rødhåd, Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Surgeon, Truncate, and Go Hiyama.

In 2015, Joton released his debut album, Casting Out Nines, to critical acclaim, presenting it across ten countries on three continents. Two years later, he embraced his analog roots with the album R3silient. 2018 saw the release of Antioquia on Odd Even and Extreme Measures on RAW RAW, further solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in techno. His most recent album, Hikikomori (2021), was born out of his interactive production courses, reflecting themes of isolation during the pandemic.

In 2024, he started a series of live A/V performances under the name Jx2. This IDM-focused project is shared with Javier Fernandez.

In addition to his production and performance work, Joton is a respected educator. Since 2010, he has shared his knowledge through collaborations with leading brands like Arturia, Parallel Festival, Microfusa, Millennia, Intec and The Bass Valley, as well as international institutions such as Beatworx Academy in India.
