Huge thank you to everyone who showed up for my late night Silent Disco set, I was very happy with the turnout:) While this is not technically the soundboard recording from the festival, I wanted to recreate it for everyone who enjoyed and wanted to relisten after the fest. We did not realize until right before playing my set that I would not be able to record (for the audio nerds: we basically had to route the audio through a capture card for the silent disco rather than classically through the mixer and to prevent a hassle for everyone I just decided to not record), so if you were there in person you might notice some very subtle differences:)

     Howdy everyone and I hope everyone had a great Labor Day, without laboring of course!😂 This is another of my instrumentals, which actually had lyrics but the vocals were not recorded too well so I made it into an instrumental. It's about having that Las Vegas experience which I'm sure nobody can afford anymore with this economy unless you're a billionaire! I've been to Vegas many times and most times I've lost, hence the title "Lost Wages"! I'm not a gambler, so when I lose a couple of hundred dollars I start sweating profusely!!😂 It's a fast paced song and I played like a boogie-woogie synthesizer on it and a rock guitar. Charlie played a groovy harmonica on it too! I've decided to drop an instrumental and a cover song every month from now on besides my normal songs and videos.      The video was a lot of fun to put together and it's all about Las Vegas, the gambling, the show girls, the drinking, the excesses, pretty decadent stuff! There's is a lot of eye-candy here for the grown-ups to enjoy! It drops tomorrow on YouTube! The original song with lyrics was called "My Neck Of The Woods" so if Charlie and I rerecord the vocals, I'll make a video of it as well. I hope everyone enjoys this song and video and remember, don't gamble unless you can afford to lose a ton of money and are rich because it is an addiction! Last time we went to Las Vegas, back before the pandemic, it was for about a week and all we saw were the shows and never gambled, that was my favorite trip because I didn't lose a dime! But guess what? We're going back to Las Vegas in December 2025 to watch the new "Wizard Of Oz" spectacular in The Sphere! Check out the clips on YouTube, it's really mind-blowing! No gambling!! Rob Barnhardt is a word nerd, irrational numbers enthusiast, avid disestablishmentarian, penny ante poker phenom and notorious sleep-aholic who sometimes dreams in Rock ‘n’ Roll. His parents were the star attraction in a daring high wire act that famously worked without a net. Both died while he was still young. He was sent to his grandmother's brothel where he was raised by prostitutes. Encouraged by a Jesuit priest, he taught himself guitar at 13, becoming an accomplished classical guitarist. He was high school valedictorian and went off to Julliard on a music scholarship. He kept a revolver and a rattlesnake in his dorm room, supplementing his scholarship with money he made selling drugs. He took advantage of the many parties at Juilliard and would often show up to them naked. He got kicked out of school for running an illegal numbers game and became an ambulance driver, hustling pool and playing in a jazz combo on the side. He met and fell in love with an Atlantic City showgirl on an ocean liner when he was 27. They jumped ship and married in Istanbul, exploring Eastern mythology and the occult while on their honeymoon. On a party dare gone awry, he fatally shot his new bride while attempting an ill conceived version of William Tell, missing the shot glass placed atop her head and instead shooting her in the eye. After serving seven years hard labor for manslaughter, he escaped from a Romanian prison and stole away on a southbound freighter. He found himself in Brisbane, living in a motel and living hand to mouth, furiously writing songs and drinking heavily. Between sporadic bar gigs, he took odd jobs at shipyards and funeral homes. He never remarried, preferring one night stands and prostitutes to a committed monogamous relationship. At this writing, he lives a hermit-like existence in a sparsely furnished farmhouse East of Omaha. And when he does venture out for musical engagements, he usually wants to be back at home.
