My interest in understanding illness, health and how the mind is under related lead me into the path of Neuroscience, and for a while into one of its dark sides, animal experimentation, sorry, "working with animal models" (even though I am a vegetarian and was also back then). 
With hopes of drawing light to our Mental Health, as a society, I feel a calling to share this poem ´My Guinea Pig is Schizophrenic´ and more to come….
Any system based on violence to acquire knowledge in order to improve healthcare or life quality or simply just for the sake of learning, needs to be revised. 
Surely, in order for us to call ourselves humans, we have to understand that by studying nature in the exterior sense only, we miss out on a divine mystical incomprehension. 
Let us put to use the Limitless Capacity of the Human Mind in a Healthy & Sustainable Manner!

My Guinea Pig is Schizophrenic 

My guinea pig is schizophrenic 

He has this little black bag, 
The zip is sewn tight and 
There are staples along it. 

Each night, in the meager candlelight 
I watch his confident mad claws pick them out, 
Checking his identity is still in there?

I call it the mad bag. 
One day, I looked in it -
In grave anticipation to find 
A blue wrinkled plastic bag
Tied at a knot. 

Pick. Pick. 

I had to rip at it, 
A mad guinea pigs knot is impossible. 
Underneath, another plastic bag, 
Green this time; smelled like crushed 
Brazil nuts, paracetamol and trip-tans. 

Two more knots. 

A few plastic bags later, 
There lay a schizophrenic, naked: 
Skimpy torn papers with his name on it, 
And a scanty picture of him, he looks almost normal. 

The rest I am not sure, 
I heard his mad footsteps up the stairs, 
And in a hurry I clumsily stuffed his identity 
Back; intact with his smug looking knots. 

Now he keeps his mad bag as an extra limb and pillow.

The Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia (DJ Darroo Remix)

For my next remix, we're going back to my childhood again.  This time back to 2001 when I was 12 years old.

This trance classic and a favourite of mine is the debut single of The Thrillseekers.  Despite the plural name, this project is actually a one man army:  English DJ/Producer Steve Helstrip.

Originally released as an instrumental in 1999, Synaesthesia was rereleased the following year with added vocals by Sheryl Deane.  2001 was when I first heard this on the radio as it was released in North America via Ultra Records that year.

I was on the fence about remixing this one, since there were many good ones already from Darude, Paul van Dyk & Ferry Corsten, among others.

What ultimately pushed me toward remixing this was that I managed to get my hands on the club mix of the vocal version.  I noticed that some of the lyrics on it were missing from it that were present in the version I heard on the radio, so I pulled out the radio version, extracted the vocals and went to work.  I also made an instrumental version as well.

Nice to meet you. My name is Randy Derricott, an Autistic EDM DJ/producer & Pharmacy Tech based in Coral Springs, Florida (a suburb of Fort Lauderdale) by way of Richmond, Virginia.
