Looming War

Can't take credit for the brilliant patch named "bliss out" that I used on my Nord Modular throughout this rather long track. The patch consists of 5 oscillators, 4 filters, 5 sequencers, 1 Lfo/3 slave Lfo's, Random pulse generators, a sample & hold module, envelopes and mixers!  
This is a cut from a 60 minute jam (patch is used at the beginning and end). The creator of the patch  is ”ZonSounds" so only used it as a starting point to improvise around with my usual "live setup" consisting of: 3 Behringer Semi-modular (Neutron/Syncussion/K2), a RD-6 drum machine + a Teenage Engineering PO35 tiny sampler + mixer/Fx.  Vox samples are me saying various silly things like "Hello" and "Unreal". Also played various other Nord Modular patches during the track's progression while editing from the excellent front panel on this classic VA synth. Not sure who would listen to this (probably other synth nerds:)) but decided to upload it anyway. Headphones recommended, enjoy!

Hi, my name is Gas No Light and Game For Experimentation. I've been making music for over 26 years now and have been and still make all sorts from synthy stuff like Vaporwave/Synthwave and Hauntology and general synthy vibes. I also make club stuff Jungle/Drum and Bass, House and Reggaetón, UK Garage and UK Funky which I enjoy making the most. Also, I like to make gaming music and Experimental music hence my other name but I do like making lots of different genres too.

If guitarist/ vocalist Flip Arkulary has heavy-metal dreams, odds are it involves Judas Priest's Rob Halford taking over singing duties for the noise-math of Helmet. Lucky for him, that dream can be lived out through his band Exiles, a psychedelic hard-rock group featuring Eric Pollard on drums, Robert Cox on bass, and Sean Chaucer on guitar. Dark and full of fuzzy axe work, the band can easily rotate between retro-metal and art-school feedback, as showcased on their bandcamp recording "Trust" and crazy-go-nuts cover of the Magnetic Fields "For We are the King of Boudoir."

Biography:

Angela Flo Llinas a.k.a Gelika/ Insane Creatures/ Tyndra) founder of Catar Records was born in Barcelona in 1987. She had her first connection with music through the violin when she was 10 years old, later on at the age of 12 she started listening to electronic music and after a few years she came across Psychedelic Trance music and straight away loved the sound of it. In 2005 she started djing Psytrance and then she moved to the United Kingdom (London) and started to play in the London Psytrance scene. In 2008 she decided to go deeper and started to study Music production at the London School of Sound and a Music Technology Specialist BA (Hons) in the University of West London.

Angela now have a number of releases in different labels around the globe since 2009. Her first EP ‘’Fractal Dreams’’ was in 2011 at Green Wizard Records, her second EP “Complex Behaviour” in 2014 at Purple Hexagon Records; were she also compiled the V.A.'s Quantum Animism 1.0 and 2.0 under the name of Gelika, and she released her first full album ‘’Underwater Mysteries” in 2017 with her Insane Creatures project and now her last EP “Wired Patterns” released on 2020 at Catar Records. Angela also has a faster side project under the name of "Tyndra" and another Psychedelic Trance project “Moirae Somnus” with Daniel Grassman (Isometric), along with her mastering and recording skills (Gelika Mastering Studios). In 2016 she opened her own record label ‘’Catar Records” were she compiled the V.A.“Epiphysis Cerebri”, V.A.“Nepeta Cataria” and V.A."Novem Vitas".  Now she is working on the second Insane Creatures album,  different compilations for Catar Records (Catars/DJ Gelika) and on a number of extra single releases around the globe.

Mohammad H. Javaheri (1989-), an Iranian composer and performer from Tehran, has gained recognition for his interest in dense, powerful masses of sound and crafting complex textures. He has been named as a promising future composer and internationally in-demand by Germany's NMZ newspaper and Thuringian state newspaper, respectively. Moreover, he received attention in various news articles, including the LA Times. His music has been characterized as 'tense’, 'sensational’, and 'detailed'; and he inherently crafts his ‘own sound’ (Toshio Hosokawa, SYNTHETIS 2019). His versatile compositions span various forms, including electronic and acoustic elements, and have received international awards. His creative focus has consistently revolved around the concepts of "Cycle, Repetition, Trans-formative Blocks," and the interplay of speed with the structure of his compositions, along with the human psyche's evolution, delving into the profound impact of incidents and traumas on human psychology. His music vividly captures the cyclical nature of these changes and their lasting effects on emotions, actions, and life decisions. His pieces have been performed by well-known artists, ensembles, and orchestras worldwide, featured on platforms like SWR2 Radio, and published by Babelscores, Score Follower, and UCLA Music Library.
In 2024, he was awarded an EDGE Fellowship by Stanford University, positioning him to become a member of the cross-disciplinary community of scholars at Stanford.

Brillman has been an electronic online musician during the last 20 years using many different names: Brillman, Controlfreak, freakcontrol, Red Karma, Atmosphere, Zero Loop, Pan64, Randomcontrol, geometric delay and Superfreak! Brillman mainly creates original sounds from hardware synths but also uses guitar, samplers, vocals or even poetry. He primarily utilizes a 4 to the floor approach. The aesthetics behind the music is about finding a balance between minimalism vs. depth & improvisation vs. programmed.
