Synthetic: (adj.): devised, arranged, or fabricated for special situations to imitate or replace usual realities

Following its 2022 debut with two EPs, @synthetik_sounds returns in the new year with an explosive new offering from Los Angeles-area stalwart Annika Wolfe in the form of their Saudade EP.

With Ecilo at the A&R helm, as well as two of Los Angeles’s most revered underground brands, 6AM and Synthetik Minds, spearheading its mission, Synthetik Sounds is now an established home for techno artists whose sound remains true to the ethos of underground techno.

The imprint’s first two outings, Protech The Skyline by Ecilo and Rooted In Reality by Stephen Disario, clearly underscored the intention of the label: to provide a platform for artists whose output leans both on deep, hypnotic techno as well as darker, and harder shades of the genre, while also building bridges between North America, Europe, Asia and beyond.

The EP opens things up with “Things Got Icky,” which sees Annika unleash a barrage of carefully constructed broken beats that pick up the tempo and turn into a real dance-floor stomper. This is electro-meets-techno at its finest, celebrating the sound Annika is being recognized for throughout North America and beyond.

The title-track carries things forward into techno territory, while maintaining the same infectious percussion-heavy characteristics that set the tone with the EP’s opening. The vibe is jacking from beginning to end, the track building in intensity as hypnotic soundscapes take over accompanied by hard-to-discern and yet incredibly sensual vocals permeating through the break-down before things kick back into full throttle. “Saudade” is also offered as a Dub Remix in this package.

Closing out the release is “No Tocar,” catapulting us into darker and early morning hours inside a proper techno warehouse. Here Annika does a brilliant job at delivering a pure techno track that is addictive, groove-ridden and keeps tension levels tightly in check to perfection.

The label begins the new year with its fifth outing since its inception, welcoming Chinese techno producer and DJ Ma Haiping to the family with an EP which includes a remix by Los Angeles producer Secus.
Through his Artificial Ecstatic EP, Ma Haiping delivers three original tracks that dig deep into the hypnotic and cerebral world of techno. While all are dance-floor ready, they also make excellent tools for any DJ’s arsenal. Today we premiere this razor sharp remix from Secus.

For this release, the duo delivers three original tracks that range from punchy dance floor grooves (Sundowner) to striking hypnotic rhythms (Babylon's Fall) that leads us to Vision, the final track of this EP that will sure lock in dance floors with the nicely layered hypnotic grooves which has become the signature sound for the young Turkish DJ/producer, Yigitoglu, and his collaborator KVTS.

Los Angeles techno label Synthetik Sounds is proud to announce the release of a powerful 39-track Various Artists compilation featuring an extraordinary lineup of global techno talent. In a time of urgent need, 100% of proceeds from the compilation will be donated to LA Fire Relief Funds, supporting communities affected by the devastating wildfires that created havoc in the Los Angeles area in January 2025.

In January 2025, the Palisades and Eaton wildfires in Los Angeles County burned over 37,000 acres, destroyed more than 16,000 structures, caused at least 29 fatalities, and led to the evacuation of over 200,000 residents, affecting many in the underground techno and house community in our city.

When we asked artists to contribute to a V/A release to help our community, we found ourselves overwhelmed by the amount of support we received.

This monumental release unites over 40 cutting-edge artists, all contributing their signature sounds to this meaningful cause. From techno veterans to rising stars, the compilation is a showcase of boundary-pushing artistry and the unity of the electronic music community.

Following the devastating January 2025 Palisades and Eaton wildfires, which burned 37,000 acres and displaced over 200,000 residents, the label rallied artists to contribute. The overwhelming response led to a powerful release featuring over 40 cutting-edge producers, from veterans to rising stars. With 100% of proceeds aiding affected communities, this compilation showcases both the resilience of Los Angeles’ underground electronic scene and the unity of the global techno community in times of crisis.

Measure Divide is a Canadian artist who has been releasing music for over a decade, gracing top labels like SHDW's Mutual Rytm, Cleric's Clergy, Ricardo Garduno's Illegal Alien, to Nachtstrom Schallplatten.

For this DT:Premiere we selected "Refract" with a brooding, cyclical style. Dark, rumbling elements are met with phasing pulses and electrical bursts creating haunting and heady underground trip of mental and intense techno.
