A collaboration with Alex Reed (Seeming) on vocals

Multi-instrumentalist Elijah Hennig on guitar —

that shifts into haunting, fractured territory.

Reed’s lyrics denote evocative, time washed but eerily specific memories — which are then interpreted spatially with Cardinal’s sound design — another frame of reality that warps and fragments around them.

Together they create a sonic palette that stretches from glitchy noir exposition, to 90s pop industrial anthemic plateaus.
Also invoking a world lost in recollection, drowning in detail, and rewinding in loops.
jamming the signal bleed of a song you once knew.
Realities passing in the night

The collaboration was built on Cardinal providing Reed with a loose premise of the albums concept in insolation, and with an instrumental that Cardinal struggled to find his voice in but still wanted to explore.
A blind exploration for all involved.
Cardinal explored several versions of the song with Elijah — letting each versions essence bleed into the one after.
