Released on System Error, the VA series that treats the dancefloor like a testing ground for future musical weapons, “Indigo” is the kind of track that just does it in the club. The kick thumps like a pulse with something to prove, while metallic textures clang and glisten, as if the track itself were forged in the backroom of a steel factory-turned-afterparty. SYSTEM ERROR RELEASES NEXT INSTALMENT IN THE FRESH TUNEZ SERIES, VITHZ - QUE HACES EP


The Fresh Tunez series keeps on keeping on with the Que Haces EP, from rising Italian talent Vithz. The last year has seen Withz playing tunes for dancefloors across the globe-from New York to Shanghai, Milan to Melbourne-honing his craft and still finding time to put this excellent piece of plastic together.


Four expertly built house cuts, packed with groove and that unmistakable rhythmic finesse. Refined yet raw, FRESH005 is an essential addition for those who know forward-thinking house music with a timeless feel.


Commenting on the release, Vithz said: “I’ve been working in the studio on these four tracks since the COVID period. That time felt a bit blurred, as well as my emotions, so I ended up producing tracks, though different had a cohesive vibe. The mix that came out was basically my mixed emotions.“


Born in Milan in 1996, the Milan-based DJ/producer Vithz is now a reality in the city’s underground scene. From a very young age, he started to develop a strong passion for house music, which his father transmitted to him.


After his studies in electronic music production at the SAE Institute in Amsterdam, in 2018 he started his format "U Feel", hosting local and international acts every week and quickly becoming one of the most popular dance parties in Milan. His DJ sets are strongly influenced by Chicago and Detroit's typical sounds, with a house and electro touch.


Counting appearances in Barcelona, Berlin, Lisbon, New York and Shanghai, VITHZ performed already in historical venues like Fabric London, H0l0 New York, Input BCN, Plastic Club Milan, Unum Festival and many more, where he’s been able to showcase his skills supporting big names like Seth Troxler, Carl Cox, Ricardo Villalobos, Kerri Chandler, and more.

From countryside calm to cosmic dancefloor calls, Manata digs for nuggets of gold - both musical and metaphysical. Having grown from small-town gigs in central Portugal to sunrise closings on Berlin’s Hoppetosse and label showcases in Brooklyn, João Manata's journey is one shaped by persistence, dusty grooves, and a Fantom 06 that rarely leaves his side. The DJ/producer’s story isn’t one of overnight buzz, but of careful curation, endless digging, and a love for records that started with Stevie Wonder and unexpectedly found its way to ‘90s Trance gems.

Now with the launch of his new label Red Beryl Records – a spiritual successor to his Nugs On Board imprint – Manata revisits the past to shape the future, uncovering unheard treasures from decades gone by. “Since Nugs is all about precious gems, I got the idea for Red Beryl after doing a small research about rare stones… it’s one of the rarest minerals on Earth,” he explains. 

In this candid and wide-ranging interview, Manata opens up about vinyl-fueled upbringings, the early Lisbon hustle, hazelnut cookies in the studio, and the joy of seeing a dancefloor respond to a long-forgotten Belgian trance record from 1995.

“For me, producing or playing music is like telling a story. I love to get vocal samples from old movies or NASA space journeys and build my tracks around that.”

PREMIERE Guile - HNY2024 [System Error]

System Error is delighted to present the last release from DJ and producer Vitya, Sign Language EP, set for release July 08 via System Error.

Born and raised in a family of musicians in Lviv, Ukraine, Vitya's musical journey spans acoustic guitar, bass, and an evolution into electronic music production. He began composing music at the age of 18 using Guitar Pro software, which laid the groundwork for his understanding of arrangement skills that remain central to his production today.


“I got into electronic music at 26,” Vitya reflects. “It opened a whole new world for me. Hearing techno at a local rave felt like a live concert that never ended.”


His first release arrived in 2022 on Late Night Superglue, marking the beginning of an exciting artistic journey. Since then, Vitya has released music on labels including 199, Tancido, Fib, Sonic Weapons of Love, Lisplk and Soundscapes Digital.


Vitya’s philosophy toward music-making is grounded in openness: “I never push the process, but allow it to happen naturally. For me, music is a journey, not a path to recognition, but a form of expression and discovery.”


Vitya - Sign Language EP will be available in both digital and Vinyl Formats, with shipping commencing on July 8, 2025. Pre-order the EP now via System Error's Bandcamp page.

Torture the Artist - your source for contemporary electronic music

Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with subgenres including Techno, Tech House, Deep House and Eletronica, as well as a small amount of Indie and Alternative. Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'. This medium gives DJs and producers the artistic freedom to highlight their different musical styles while not being restricted by factors such as setting, and connecting them to a wider audience. 

Being in its ninth year, Torture the Artist has gained a strong and active online support group, including music enthusiasts to label managers and artists themselves, creating a cohesive community with music as their bond.
