"Affection" is the second episode of a six-part DJ mix series called CIRCUITS. Each of the six editions of CIRCUITS will focus on a different style and mood, reflecting Discrete Circuit's deep love for all angles of electronic music and beyond.

For the 62-minute journey "Affection", I've stepped out of my techno comfort zone to set off an emotional journey that enjoys layover in R'n'B and Alternative Rock as well as in Indie Dance and Sing-Rap – while always being accompanied by Dance Pop and House Music vibes. CIRCUITS allows me to present my musical range without completely neglecting my roots. That's why "Affection" is an eclectic mix that unfolds its power through feelings and rhythms.

Francesca Macri also known by her now well known moniker System Olympia has been stretching the genres of new-wave, disco and club sounds to her whim since the mid 2010's. With her 2020 debut album "Delta Of Venus" still in huge demand sitting on discogs for a keen collectors price it only speaks volumes about Macri's fan base. Having followed up her successful debut with the synth driven "Racing Heart" and the stunning "Always On Time" in more recent years, not to forget most recently her critically acclaimed new EP "Sanctified"; System Olympia has won fans over with her unique ear and keen eye to her sound, each time bringing something new to the table. As well as performing live shows, the artist also enjoys taking punters on journeys in her diverse DJ sets and this is where we move on to the mix. An hour of leftfield disco, rare boogie gems and synthy anthems all mixed to perfection. Pop that bottle of champagne, cue up the system and shine your phone light at the disco ball in your room. Next up on the ReFrame we have the wonderful Baz and Nova, Leeds very own pair of Balearic Archaeologists, not averse to picking their way through Europe's dusty record recesses for the weird the wonderful and mostly elusive oddities! A perfect ReFrame accompaniment... ❤️

I first met Baz one Saturday night not long after COVID restrictions had eased and back playing records at Outlaws Yacht Club. By chance and he wandered in whilst his latest record was playing, Exstatic Love on Magic Wand. After intros from Shaun we had a good chat that evening around similar familiar musical strands. 


As always the show is made up of lots of personal edits snipped away for maximal dancefloor pressure. This month also sees the first inclusion of the ReFrame There is Nothing Left to do, an Italian 80s oddity beefed up and crafted for the dancefloor.
