This is one of the most memorable recordings from my camping trip on Mount Olympus.

Just below the summit, I had set up my tent for the night. Early in the morning, I woke up to the sudden sound of hail pounding against the fabric of my shelter. The storm built quickly, and for moments it became incredibly intense, with the hailstones striking in a steady rhythm.

I captured this moment using a Tascam FR-AV2 and a pair of DPA 4060 microphones. What I love about this recording is the raw and powerful texture of nature — you can almost feel the energy of the mountain storm through the sound alone.
