Emerencz Merkle known professionally as THEIRTHEIR / Emerencz, is a Queer Canadian born DJ, Producer & Founder of OBSKUR MUSIC Record Label. They currently live on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia. They began as a classically trained musician who then immersed into the Northwestern Canadian electronic music culture in 2009. 

In their role as head of OBSKUR MUSIC, Emerencz channels their passion for creating community into providing a platform for queer & women talent on a global scale. You can also find Emerencz’s passion of self expression through visual media; art & fashion in their label’s designs. 

Emerencz’s inspirations for sound come from our existence and the subtle vibrations and frequencies around us that we often take for granted. Their productions reflect this, incorporating sonic soundscapes, drone, spatial frequencies, extended resonance, field recordings of the moving world, and conversations from the environment. Their creations also juxtapose performance art and durational works, and they use this medium to craft their art. Emerencz discovers the most beauty where sound and motion coalesce.
