Solid momentum and great energy on the maiden voyage of Rise Ritual at Gelato Vero Caffe. Resident and promoter Thomas Fitzgerald tweaked his more common sound from Sublime Saturdays to make you wanna run around the block like your mama's coming to visit. Slightly more Disco, but don't just take our word for it!

This will be a weekly jam-bo-ree every Wednesday morning from 7 - 9AM. Skip the gym, get your buzz, shake it down, and start your hump day right! This is one of the best places in San Diego to catch an outstanding morning view.

Gelato Vero Rise Ritual 8 . 6 . 25

As the son of a professional flamenco singer, Thomas has always been surrounded by music.  Exposure to flamenco influenced him because it has a dynamic range of emotions—from the "deep singing" style of cante hondo, to the more lively alegrias.  He has also worked in the corporate, independent, and online music industry for a number of years.  At one point he was a Content Manager for the Electronic Music genre at MP3.com, where he screened over 500 songs per day.  Exposure to a wide range of music explains the range of genres in his mixes—he uses whatever carries the mood.  From listening to Umm Kulthum's "Enta Omri" in his childhood, to New Wave and  Industrial as a teen, it became difficult for him to stick to one sound. Though vinyl was his original format of choice when he started in the 90s, the use of digital mixing has helped him better form soundscapes to expand your headspace.  Let him play with your moods for a spell.
