Default Position welcomes Ukrainian-born DJ producer Andrey Sirotkin to the label - with his debut deep techno EP, 'Dusk'. 

As a seasoned music maker Sirotkin brings a wealth of experience, having produced several genres - from deep house and dub techno to drum and bass and dubstep under his alias I Wannabe.  

Sirotkin's latest four-track EP transports the listener into a spooky dark underworld, with its moody, acid-esque basslines, haunting pads, and mesmerising percussive melodies. 'In Ukraine, we have this trend of hard banging music', says Sirotkin. 'Some people have difficulty appreciating deeper grooves' So with 'Dusk' it was about making something that could be experienced in more spiritual ways. It's for people who are maybe not into the hard dance experience but still love electronic music.

Dusk releases on September 12, 2022. All proceeds will be donated to Red Cross Ukraine.

The piece ETHEREAL is a relaxing piece of music composed in the 432 Hz frequency by CHARSEDO (& ARIYA). The instruments and sounds in this piece were carefully selected to create a sense of ethereal trance for the listener. The 432 Hz frequency is a natural frequency that is found in many traditional musics around the world. It is associated with the Golden Ratio (φ), a sacred mathematical ratio. Some studies have shown that listening to music in the 432 Hz frequency can have positive and relaxing effects on the mind and body. However, some claims about the mystical effects of the 432 Hz frequency are not supported by scientific evidence. For example, the claim that this frequency can be aligned with the heart chakra or other energy centers in the human body has not yet been scientifically proven.

Default Position is a London/Berlin-based record label founded by Joseph S Joyce which specialises in emotive forms of electronic music. The label gets its name from a term that is widely used in psychology, referring to a person's natural tendency or reaction to something or someone. A person's default position is often based on deeply embedded core beliefs about themselves or the world around them, often originating from childhood. Many of us will have to challenge our default positions in life, especially if we've developed negative ones. In terms of creativity, however, we believe that the default position serves something of great value. We believe it represents an artist's fundamental frequency, a place of creative authenticity, devoid of external influences or material motive. When an artist's output comes from their default position they express their truth. Our aim is to help them deliver their message.

Intox is a French electronic music producer. He began his musical career at the age of 17 in the south of France. Self-taught and passionate, he quickly developed expertise in blending classical instruments with electronic music, naturally gravitating toward the melodic techno genre.

His first productions were released in 2013 on Onyx Music and Se7enth Fury Grammaton, and they quickly drew public attention. Since then, Intox has released numerous melodic tracks across various labels, building a solid discography. He later joined Roxxx Records and Bullfinch Records, two well-established names in the electronic music scene that have become his key partners.

Known for his consistency and professionalism, Intox is also eager to explore different electronic styles to broaden his creative palette. He has a particular fondness for pianos and violins, which he often incorporates into his compositions.

In short, Intox is an artist to keep an eye on for all fans of melodic electronic music.
