De afgelopen twee weken waren in Taiwan de World Masters Games. Tijdens deze Olympische Spelen voor sporters van 35 jaar en ouder deden ruim 25.000 atleten en para-atleten van over de hele wereld mee in 35 sporten. Nadat we een jaar geleden nog geen Nederlandse delegatie hadden is de campagne van Michiel Wienese en zijn collega's om Nederlandse atleten naar Taiwan te krijgen geslaagd. Michiel schoof aan in de studio en blikte met ons terug op de Games, maar blikte ook vooruit op een aantal mooie events die er nog aankomen.

Voor het eerst in 47 jaar zal Telstar aankomend seizoen weer in de Eredivisie te bewonderen zijn. Na het al uitschakelen van ADO Den Haag en FC Den Bosch, werd in de finaleronde van de promotie/degradatie play-offs ook Willem II aan de zegekar gebonden. Een historische prestatie voor De Witte Leeuwen uit Velsen-Zuid, voor wie gelijk werk aan de winkel is. We spraken erover met iemand die zondagavond met tranen van geluk voor de televisie zat, namelijk oud-voorzitter Pieter de Waard.

安提浮淚久 anti fragile

Since the start of President Trump’s second term—and especially following the unprecedented Oval Office confrontation last February between Trump, J.D. Vance, and Ukrainian President Zelensky—Washington’s policy on Ukraine has undergone a dramatic shift.
While this realignment has alarmed many of America’s traditional European allies,  the ripple effects have been felt far beyond Europe, including in Taiwan. Despite the absence of a formal treaty, U.S. support has long been a cornerstone of Taiwan’s security strategy in deterring invasion by China who claim Taiwan as part of its sovereign territory despite having never controlled or occupied it. 
In this episode, we speak with Marcin Jerzewski, Head of the European Values Center in Taipei about how Taiwan is interpreting Washington’s evolving stance on Ukraine. We explore whether President Trump’s territorial rhetoric and trade initiatives are fueling skepticism in Taiwan—and how the Chinese Communist Party is leveraging the current situation to erode Taiwan’s trust in the US.

Dudley Anderson was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. After graduating from Bible College in 1990, God opened the way for Dudley to branch out into Christian radio. As a musician and worship leader he developed a heart for Christian music, which became the main thrust of his radio work in South Africa. 

 In 1996 God called Dudley and his family to the United Kingdom where he now works as a radio programme producer and presenter. Dudley also writes a FREE weekly e-mail devotional called, GodTracker, available at surereality.net
